4.3 to 4.3 LX

Can anyone tell me the "nuts and bolts" difference between a 4.3liter and the 4.3 LX engine? I know the horsepower rating is different, but what are the physical differences?

Just found out my block is cracked and I am looking for a new shortblock.

4.3l =2 barrel carb
4.3lx =4 barrel carb
not sure on intakes
im sure more knowledgeable people will post with more specs

Further research suggests that the only difference is the 4bbl. Thanks for the reply!

4.3 l has 2 brl carb vrs a 4 brl weber carb, the cam is the same 269 intake x 273 ex. valve lift is .394 in. x 404 ex. roller non adj lifters the heads are different, 1995 and prior 12 bolt castings were 10240209,10238181 1996 and after 8 bolt with larger intake and ex valves no crossover 4 angled bolts on each head.net h.p was betwwen 25-30 depending on what year.the older ones got 205 because no balance shaft and rochester 4brl carb. this engine is basically a v8 with only 6 cylinders. ....O KEE DOE KEY...

I'm not even sure what to do with these specs
My cracked engine is an '89 4.3 LX (205hp) and i am asking in case I find a good used 4.3(190hp)of the same year range. (I think '87 - '91) so I can possibly make it into a "LX"..

I read a little and get that it means you're from the North-East but I honestly I don't think I understand it any better:redface:
My conclusion on the "Ayuh" thing is that I will learn to read past it! LOL
I asked because I thought maybe it was an Iboats forum acronym that long time users just get and newbies like me wonder about.
