The plug for the main harness would be the problem. I have made my own wiring harnesses for engines, cut the plugs off both engine harness and helm harness and just used a terminal block to connect them.
I will upload some wiring diagrams and post a link so you can see what has to be wired in. You will also have to deal with the fuel pump wiring so it operates safely. Not a big deal, but needs to be done.
Here's the link to the wiring diagrams. Look at the 4.3GL, that is what you want your system to look like........ Basically
