I had the carburetor off my 1971 Light Twin (4HP) to check for a sticking float. (it wasn't stuck). On reinstallation, the high and low speed adjustment stems were off-center of their bores, where the splined knobs didn't fit well. I had to loosen the two carburetor attachment nuts, attach the stems and re-tighten. Could differential torque on the two attachment nuts cause this mis-alignment? The other possibility might be trash on the gasket face, but I doubt this. Any experience or thoughts on carb alignment?
