Hello everyone,
I have an old but great CD-13, 1956 5.5 HP Johnson with a rope starting system. I am much older than it so I am now experiencing problems with my shoulder from pulling the starter rope. Does anyone know if an electric starter can be installed in it? If so, do you know a brand starter that will fit and how do you mount it to the motor?

Thanks for any help.

Can't be done, at least not without inventing it yourself. The smallest Evinrude or Johnson ever made with electric starting was the 9.9hp, 1974-up

Don't think it is an option you have.
Take someone with you to start the motor for you !!!

I have seen this done.Im not sure if it was the core of an electric car buffer or what it was. But he had a rubber suction cup of some kind on a battery operated drill. He just crammed it down on the flywheel ,and that was his electric starter.
