My old AQ225E has been replaced with a 5.7, retained the original distributor, carb, etc.. Runs good but the intial timing of 4 degrees just seems a little low..even idles a bit choppy and stinky..Wondering if it should be jumped up to maybe 8 degrees initial to smooth it out and help in starting also.. Keep in mind, it runs fine and all but being around cars all my life, I know that advancing the timing some aids in smoother idle and starting..???
