An ACR does not charge one battery and then switch over to the other battery. It just senses that one of the batteries has a voltage over 13.6V or so and then combines the 2 together.

For the Blue Seas combiners it combines when it sees one battery at 13.6V for 30 seconds or 13.0V for 2 minutes.

In a 1/2/both switch, The battery selector selects either battery 1, battery 2 or both. The switch connects them together in the both position. When the switch is in the 2 position, it is not combining the 2 batteries and it never isolates the ACR in any of the positions.

With a switch like this, you have everything tied to the common terminal of the switch.

I misspoke a bit. I should have said switching to "All/both". I'l go back and fix that.
