Fuel leaking with a torrent, it's comong from around the shift rod access cover and wherever it can find a way out, all fuel hoses are good, it's all dry around the motor shroud below the carbs and near the fuel connecter, seems internal, would a bad fuel pump diaphragm cause this? The engine run great today idled good WOT 4900 range is 4500-5000. just noticed fuel spilling from around lower housing, only leaks while running, if the needle and seat were bad or float too high wouldn't I have running issues? I'm thinking something amuck in the fuel pump although she's pumping fuel alot of fuel, similar experiences anybody with the old 60's v4, Thanks.

Dry it all out and then watch where it comes from initially. That's the leak.

Yeo getting ready to do that now on land, although while on the water I removed the hood and checked all my hoses and connections carb throat everything was dry, there is that pressure hose to the fuel pump from the engine case and i think thats where i'm going to start i'll be back soon.

No not main connection all that is dry and new hoses, but I did locate the culprit just not quite understanding why there would be gas there in the first place.
It's leaking from the one stupid hose that I didn't replace, the hose originates from a barb fitting way up under and behind the inake manifold on the crankcase and it appears to be routed along the powerhead behind the starter and towards the rear where it connects to the head it looks like, I thought that hose was just a vent and not part of the fuel system? I guess the crankcase while running is nothing but a aerosol of raw fuel and that spray aerosol found that broken vent hose or whatever it is.
