Hi All,
I have a 1969 Evinrude Sportster Big Twin 25hp. Ser #25920-E08015. I've had this motor for about 15 years and it pretty much sat the last 5. I decided to sell it and wanted to change the impeller. When I dropped the LU I noticed thsat in the impeller kit they give you three new screws for the water-pump housing. Must be because they're stainless and soft because I broke two of them! I thought the housing might pop up off the broken screw shafts, but it seems a little tight still. is this a common problem? I'm not worried about getting the rest of the screw out but I have to get the housing off first. I don't want to do any damage to the housing or plate. Does this or should it come off now that the screw heads are gone. I have enclosed pics. Anybody got a good solution?
Thanks in advance.
