i have been a lurker on this site for six months or so, thank all of you for the information. i read through posts for three hour without any luck, so here is my question. i have a 70 horse Evinrude, E70TLCOS on a skeeter bass boat. i went fishing about a month ago and the motor got hot. it didnt sieze completely but cranked hard. took it home and pulled plugs and dumped mixing oil in the cylinders while cranking it over. it ran after i put the plugs in it and seemed to free up. i was stoked till i pulled the plugs and had water in the cylinders. at this time i had 90,90 and 100 on a compression test. i then took the powerhead off and pulled the head and the exhaust manifold off. the pistons and rings looked good as well as the cylinders. i put new gaskets in as well as a new thermostat and overheat sensor. it then had 120 psi in all cylinders. i also replaced the impeller and everything ran great. i took it to the lake and started it in the water and let run for ten minutes or so at 1500 rpm, checking things over. it would slowly lose rpm and then die. when i would try and start it it would act like it was siezed up. after bumping the key i could get it to crank and start but could tell something was not right. i brought the boat home and pulled the plugs and water came out of the bottom hole as well as small spray out of the other two. i dont believe i have solved the problem, there is something i missed. the manual doesnt go into this in great detail so any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance
