Trying to restore this engine to previous glory, and just acquired its twin (72 Johnson 100hp) as a parts motor. After removing both flywheels, I noticed that the stator in the Ev had white plastic wrapping, while the Jo stator had green wrapping. What is the difference, and which should I use? Also, when reattaching the flywheel, what are the pros and cons of using AntiSeize on the flywheel nut and the crankshaft the flywheel sits on?
The last question deals with the carbs. Looking at the parts list between the 100 and a 125 hp, the only difference in part # I see is the high speed orafice. are they interchangeable, and what are the pros and cons of making the change. Also, the manual mentions a special tool to remove and install the orofices. is such a tool required or could I make one?
