Hello, Everyone,
I'm currently restoring a 1974 Bayliner 1600 Cascade, it's an old tri-hull, And I have been trying to find information on this boat but it is Very hard to find. this will be my first Boat, I'm going to replace the Floor and Transom, I will be doing much of the Repair myself, I have already been reading up and watching Videos of how to do this Correctly, which is what I want to do it, I fiqure if I'm doing All this work I might as well do it right the first time, I have already Removed the seats and Carpet, and I'm down to the floor and ready to remove the Boat Cap once I get ready to remove the Outboard engine.
My First question is The Deck is Really thin, It appears to be about 1/8" of an inch or less, is it just fiberglass or a Really thin piece of plywood then fiberglassed over?
and also removing the old gelcoat is it good to walnut blast it? or just use a good Orbital Sander?
and what the weight or max weight is?
and I believe it has the original Evinrude outboard I think it is a 105 or 115hp and I'm thinking of adding a fishfinder or stereo would the charge from the outboard be enough for this from the motor or would i need another battery?
Thanks ahead for your Help and Information, I will post pictures of the boat
