Re: Stripping paint

If anyone is wondering, this is a really fun boat! Matt took me for a spin in her yesterday, it was a blast! I had to leave the meet early, but it was a good time....a really nice group!

Thanks bobby. Ditto on Miss Morgan. The hot boat community is a great group of people. You and Miss Morgan are welcome back any time.

Thanks Bobby. You still considering coming down to the Tawakoni deal? Looks like it is going to be a blow out. People coming from the coast of TX all the way to OK, AR and LA. Should be a hoot to say the least.

Re: Stripping paint

I would like to, but I have too many projects going on.....pouring a concrete curb for my new front fence and entry (350' worth), doing a little remodel for my land lord, putting a coating on the my neighbors barn roof, also need to get the gas hooked up to the heater at the lake.....lots of fall chores. I haven't worked on either boat in 2 weeks or so. Maybe I can make it next year, sounds like a good time!

So this is a bit off topic, but y'all wouldn't by chance know anyone out in California in need of Pontiac motor mounts to fit a boat.
I got them attached to a 455 I purchased but I don't have a boat.
I believe the back one is a glenwood, the front is an edelbrock with a nicson water pump looking thing.

Thanks ahead of time!

By the way, that motor looks very mean sitting in that boat!
Refreshing to see something besides the usual sbc or BBC in a boat.

I have a 455 that's .060 over forged pistons and so forth originally out of a 70 GTO.
I will be fitting it behind a t56 6 speed in my 1975 trans am.

Thanks Cutty. The TA sounds like a fun project. Your best bet to sell those is going to be to register over at Performanceboats.com and post them there. Got any pictures of them? I'd like to see them. Actually I know a guy near Dallas that might be interested if you are willing to ship.

I was pretty shocked to get this motor with the mounts, I hadn't ever considered the idea of a Pontiac in a boat.
I'll see what it let's me upload. Unfortunately they aren't removed from the motor only because the one acts as a front cover for it. If the guy in Dallas doesn't mine the shipping costs I could give it a shot.

These pictures aren't the greatest, but you get the gist of it.
The script for edelbrock is curved so it has to be of 70's vintage or close to it.

Thanks for your quick reply as well! I'll give performanceboats.com a try.

Very cool. Got any pics of the entire boat? I'd love to see it. PM me your email address. I'll pass it on to Mark and he can contact you if he is interested in the mounts. Is there by chance an oil filter adapter on the other side? I'd be interested in that part if it is there.

He may also be interested in that PTO. The PTO is the disk that is bolted to the center of the flywheel. any idea how much you want for the parts? I'll PM you my number.

Re: Stripping paint

I am pretty sure the Rebel is going to be in the "What Are You Working On" segment of Gearz. The letter kinda contradicts itself so I am not 100% sure. I had to sign a release for the pictures as well. Anyway, The first 5 episodes of season 6 will now air on Monday nights at 9:00pm EST! Set your DVR and look for my sled at some point.

Excerpts from the letter:

We love your ride and Stacey will comment on it in a special segment of this season’s show Stacey David’s GearZ?. For inclusion in the show, we need pictures at 300 dpi minimum resolution, with a minimum size of 1280 x 960......

...Don't forget to watch for the “What Are You Workin’ On?”? segment at the end of the show. Your ride could be featured in the segment!

Carp, no more speed channel @ these parts, or at least not my 'new' TWC lineup...... Congrats! I may try & find it online though......

I hope the great prizes he sends you include the V-8 bar stool!:D Is that rated for a draw-tite bar?

Well done, & congrats again.

Re: Stripping paint

Thanks JB. I know you can get partial episodes at StaceyDavid.com. Unfortunately they do not show the segment my boat will be on. I'll dig and see if I can find an online source as well. Let me know what you find. My sister and her Husband can not get speed either.

Re: Stripping paint

I don't know how many "What are you working on?" segments there have been, but there seems to be a bunch of them on Stacey's YouTube channel. If that's where your boat will be featured, it hopefully will make the YouTube channel in March. Most of those are delayed by several days or weeks.

So lets hope it shows up soon!
