Re: 77 Fiberform

10 years ago I was looking for a boat of that class. I would rate Fiberform in the same class as Bayliner. I wound up with a 27 1/2' Bayliner with a huge flybridge and cabin on a triple axle trailer. It had a single 350ci & Volvo outdrive. All I did was pour money and sweat into it. It was a terror to pull down the road (35' long & 10,000lbs). I live in Miami and wound up selling it to a guy in Stockholm Sweedan.

Your money - your call. I would not go down that road again.

Thanks for your opinion. This boat is priced at 9,000. canadian ,it needs some work but runs well.Im looking for a project and hopefully to enjoy some time using it for fishing and diving. Is this boat not a very sea worthy boat?.Im quite mechanical and i do auto painting and body repairs for a living.I know i will have to put some money into it.I guess my main concern would be if i put some money in to it is it worth the effort.

Ofcourse it depends on your priorities in design, performance, image and the planned use (in- or offshore).

Can't help thinking about the running costs. Try a search in this site for 'consumption' or 'mpg'.

Looking at the perspective, the invested money and the resale value, I'd check the market for diesel cruisers. If you wan't a sea worthy boat it's harder to get it with a fast boat as hi-speed handling (and the comfort in it) combines bad with rough weather. If you are happy with moderate speed, a semi-planning hull will give a more calm and comfortable ride.
