Oh you'll be busy. Most people wait until the last minute to get any work done. Hopefully that means more money for you and boat related accessories.

I dropped the boat off to have the topside painted with Endura paint in a dark blue metallic. The paint is super tough as is used for marine, oil field equipment, etc. Any extra cash will go into a custom boat cover and some upholstery work.

My other winter hobby is some target shooting so I'll look into an extra scope and mount for my M14 knockoff Norinco M305 and CZ858 to keep me occupied over the winter.

I got bored and started to reverse engineer my my boat jump seats in the rear and rebuild them.

I'll take the seats in to get redone when the boat comes back from painting...

I couldn't afford the time with all the sanding and painting and painting and sanding and the swearing.

I just got the boat back from painting with Endura paint which is an industrial tough high quality paint. http://www.endura.ca/

Here's some pics of the boat before I start to get some of the hardware on before winter. I just ordered the Perko stealth led bow light and a Jabsco 3" flange mount bilge blower which should be here within a week.

There wasn't much of a choice in colors for the Interlux VC perforamnce epoxy on the bottom. It's listed as V127 White. It's quite white but I'm ok with that. It may show some dirt but what can you do...

I picked it becuase it's tough and slick and I don't need the antifouling properties as it's a trailered freshwater boat. http://www.yachtpaint.com/usa//product_guide/antifouling/US_vc_perf_epoxy.asp?ComponentID=9860&SourcePageID=6778

Yeah paint looks awful compared to mine!!!!

That's a joke BTW you have to see my paint nightmare thread haha, it looks really good and good call on not wanting the headache and excessive cursing and lack of sleep due to a botched paint job.

Hopefully our last and final attempt with paint will end up looking half as good as yours. I dig the color scheme too, is it black or dark blue?

Sprintst great work on the Holiday...that thing is going to be a gem when finished. Your boys probably don't realize that all of this work is more for them than for you ;)...look forward to seeing it completed and splashed:D

Have you decided on the durabak for sure? From what I've read that stuff works very well on decking.

Keep the pics coming:)

Wow... You guys have been watching. Thanks for all the words of encouragement. It's the last 2 days of warm weather as it turns colds again at the end of this week. We had a dump of snow that all melted in this warm snap. We'll be a daytime high of 50 F for you boys down south.

I just got so wiped out trying to work and do the boat at the same time I just paid for the painting to get done. I was working on average 20 hours overtime a week so I just used some of that 20 hours to pay for the painting.

I spent the day taking back my unopened Interlux Brightside (dark blue), thinner, zinc chromate, etc. I traded it all in for some fiberglass cloth, ss bolts, nuts, screws, 4 - Perko 6" cleats, stuff to make the epoxy peanut butter (filleting the inside joints of seat boxes, etc and sandwiching the transom sheets, etc)

I got my rub rail hardware bolted back on today and got totally sick during the day. I just ran out of energy and felt like I got run over by a truck. I hada couple drinks last night to celebrate picking the boat up from paint but not enough to feel this wiped out :)

Tomorrow is the windshield and some other topside hardware getting bolted back as I'm feeling better now.

Odds are I will be going with the durabak for the deck in a light grey as the white is really white and the glare might be a bit much.

The paint on the top and sides is a is a dark blue metallic but in the sun it looks much lighter. Hopefully I can put it back together in such a way that it holds up for another 30 years and the boys will get a lot of use out of it.

I'm hoping I can forget how much work this was at times and buy a big boat next year to restore. Odds are that will be a project I'll drag on for a couple years to have more time to enjoy the process.

EZ's all foggy in the head. He sold the Jupe this morning

Had I known the Jupiter been done earlier this year I probably would have bought it instead of this one. I was looking for something restored at a reasonable price when I snapped and bought this one.

This boat was in impulse buy from Craigslist. I just started looking one week because I was spending too much time working and not enough fun time with my boys. I don't want them to just remember dad works all the time.

I work myself to death so that they can have anything they want but that gets old after a while. Seems they have more fun when we all play monopoly or just hang out.

Anyways it was 10:30 one night and I decided that I'd tell the wife I was jumping in the Explorer and driving 20 hours to Grand Rapids Minnestota to pick up a boat :) I told her earlier in the week that I needed a break from work to keep from snapping so she wasn't all that surprised.

I might still show up at the at the get together in VA as I've never been there. I've been through a lot of the US but there are still a lot of states I want to get to yet.

I going to stay floating in a tire tube week straight to get some relaxing in...

SPrint. I know from experience what a chore a large boat restore can be. Go back and look thru my thread and you'll note a few periods of frustration. But then everytime I see that photobucket video of the Liquid Limo scooting across the waves, I get a huge smile and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.

And I paid to have the topside painted on mine. Sometimes you gotta let folks who do what they do step in and do it:)

Did I say good lookin boat:p

You don't know how many clicks there have been on your vids from me :)

I just finished looking at one again a few minutes ago where you're booking it towards the tree line and it looks like you might not make the turn.

I'll keep plugging along as once this weeks done it goes in for a cover to be made and I'll have enough time to forget over the winter.

I think I need to move down south so I can have the weather to work on some boats in my old age. I'll be 45 in Jan so it's coming faster than I thought as I haven't been paying that much attention to it.
