I really dig the Cree stuff as I've seen the difference compared to the cheap stuff.

For the $25 I think I should be able to pump out a crazy amount of light...with no power draw.

As a result I'll probably end up doing some night fishing :)

None of my work being done here... Here are some pics of my boat cover done by C + M Upholstery in Edmonton.

Notice the venting as well as the padding on areas that might rub. The cover is done in the heavier Sunbrella material. There is also places to connect poles in the center to shed the snow and rain away.

Here she is back at her home in the RV storage lot. It actually hasn't been there all summer.

The tires on the Yukon are the Michelin LTX AT2 Light Truck tires. A little more agressive tread pattern for going up the slipper boat launches.

Since the boat is a she it's just another woman who's damn lucky to have found me :)

Yeah...now the trailer looks like hell. In the spring, after the transom, I'll done her in a marina and give the trailer the same going over except in Por15 paint.

The thing is you guys have boats that actually float. Mine's only good for looking at until I get this thing finished.

I'll post the paint code this week sometime as I have to stop at the body shop to get the code in case I need to do touch ups.

Hopefully I can come up with a decent interior color scheme too.

Now that I've taken some time off I'll get back at it again. My sending the boat out for painting was my cutting corners. :)

I'll order up some wiring harness stuff from http://www.ezacdc.com/Scripts/default.asp as my wiring as an absolute mess.

Trying to get back on track...

Maybe a big second boat to hand out and drink in over a couple years would be the way to go. I could get the tunes going for some r & r.

PS I found a dude at a stereo shop that can do custom fiberglass forming. I may ask him to glass over my dash and glove box as I hear he is a god with this stuff.

Yup... Some real progress over here...not. Too damn cold to get much done but I'll pick away at what I can.

I bought some Perko cleats and stainless steel bolts and bolted them on. They are Perko part number 1306DP2CHR. 6 inch open base cleat chrome plated zinc alloy over black plastic. I also ordered this Perko Stealth led bow light. Part number 0615DP0STS. Stainless steel length 2 1/2 width 2 5/8 inches. It's tinyier than i though but apparently it can pump out some serious light but we'll see what happens when I actually fire it up.

What do you guys think about me building my seat boxes in 3/4 inch marine plywood? The internal seat plywood will also be 3/4 inch as I have a sheet left over on my garage floor. The wife would like to get the garage floor cleaned up so I can get my big Yukon in the garage :)

Here are the old seats that I will rebuild and have reupholstered. I know what I can handle and my upholstery work would queer the deal. It would look like a monkey did it...I know my limits.

Here's why no one will mess around in my back yard. Even as a pup he had this big monster bark. Not that crime is big in suburban Canada...you'd have to be really commited to your craft to steal in this serious cold. I think people just say screw it...too cold...stay in bar.

This big Chesapeake Bay retriever can really move when he sees the flash too. I've never seen a dog this big move soo damn fast. He's built like a tank. His chest must be two feet thick and is built to crash through ice and swim in the Chesapeake Bay to retrieve ducks. He can explode and in one step be 10 feet away. Tons of energy but psycho as a pup. Very well behaved now though. I can teach him to drive the boat for food... Food is a very big training motivator for them :)

Nice lookin' parts. I should get some of those cleats to replace the plastic crap I took off. And that bow light is badass! Since I don't do much night running, the lower profile the better.

Re: 77 Starcraft Holiday 18 i/o - rebuild with pics galore

Just wondering if it's a big deal weight wise on building my seat boxes in 3/4.

If I do the front boxes in 3/4 then that kind of balances out the rear jump seats built in 3/4 as well.

I'll be posting links and part numbers for the transom and bellows kit I'm looking at ordering. Just checking to make sure I'm ordering the right stuff based on my serial numbers.

I overdid it on the dog house too. It's a two room doghouse witha narrow hallway leading into a biger back room. The walls floor and roof are sandwiched with 2 inch strofoam insulation between 3/4 inch plywood.

The narrow hallway and door opening keep him out of the cold in the winter.

I'll post some pics of that too...

Re: 77 Starcraft Holiday 18 i/o - rebuild with pics galore

I'm looking online to order some transom installation kits and any other parts that I can do at the same time. It would probably save me money to do my own ordering.

Mercruiser 140 inboard (serial number 4651783) and Mercruiser leg (serial number 4683667)

Here's a webpage I've been using to help identify the leg... http://www.sterndrive.info/sterndriv..._outdrive.html

Here's the website I've been using try pics the parts.

Here's the parts I'm looking at buying. I'm looking at buying from this site as they as original Mercruiser parts and they ship USPS to Canada

http://inetmarine.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=35157

It's the 710-30-803098T 1 TRANSOM SEAL REPAIR KIT original Mercruiser and the shift lever kit that corrects a seal problem with the shift cable.

http://inetmarine.com/index.asp?PageAction=PRODSEARCH&txtSearch=45518T1&btnSearch=GO&Page=1

Now I just have to find for the shift cable part number on this site and a water pump rebuild kit with everything new.

Just double checking to make sure I'm on the right track with part numbers, etc before I place my order.

sprintst, you're going to have to post your I/O questions in the I/O repair section. Those guys are gurus and very few of them hang out in the resto section.
