Color looks good. R U adding any of the Hardener?

Yup, mixed up one quart added the two fluid ounces of hardner. Mixed well forthirty mins then sprayed. I did add some acetone, but not near what you had in your recipe. I just eyeballed it. Think it was maybe two or three ounces in the quart.

Wow Troop,
You are doing a bang up job ...if you hadn't admitted to being a noob at painting, I would'a mistook you for a pro...Very nice!

Glad to hear the weather is cooperating...

Puter's been acting up last couple of days, but I wanted to get back with you on my previous offer regarding my truckin buddy...

His truck's in the shop and bizness is slow...he doesn't know when he'll be doin the East-West run, at least not any time soon...he's hooked up a gig inside the state, so he'll be doing that till things pick up again...but he did tell me that if he makes the coast to coast run, he'll let me know, and that he would be happy to transport stuff...

Anyhow, if I get the word I'll holler at you...

Keep up the great progress.

Thanks for the kind words, but this is one of them 15' paint jobs. Looks ok from afar :)

Appreciate you getting back on the transport. I won't be getting the rest if my supplies till mid April at the soonest.

Realistically that should be the closest you get to the trailer, except when loading and unloading...rest of the time it's in the rearview...

Yeah, in trucking things change quickly, so if anything good happens 'tween now and then...

Trailers are for practicing so when it comes time to paint your boat, you'll have all the kinks worked out. If the trailers a "15' Paint job" the Boat will be a 15 inch paint job. If you're gun has the 1.4 mm tip then I would suggest you thin it a bit more to help atomize the paint and especially when you go to paint the boat. Also, remember once the hardener is added the paint is only good for 8 hours. I only mixed 2 cups (1/2 quart) at a time with 1 oz of hardener. That was enuf paint to do 1 1/2 coats on my 15 ft hull. How much of the quart did you use on one coat on the trailer?

I was thinking this would be good practice. I was most way thought the second coat before I noticed that the pressure coming from the bottom know was too high.

I ended up using a qt for each coat......too much?

Wow! That seems a bit much to me. I would cut back on the fluid volume and thin it a bit more.

Yes.It is best to grind the galvanizing off and then use a quality etching primer as stated above. Please use a quality particulate filtering mask as grind galvanized parts is a pretty nasty substance to inhale.

Great looking spray job. The black paint looks good with the gray bunks.
Are you going to pin strip the trailer?
