8 hp E'rude 1990 ... bonehead move

Ran this engine with no oil in the gas for about 5 minutes. Yes, I know.
It started to slow down ... and stopped.
Did NOT actually seize,
I am going to fog it several times and run it on double oil for 1/2 hour or so.

Anyone else has success doing something else/additional?

That might get the piston moving in the bore but you cant undo the damage . You should now consider your engine wounded , and hope the big end is ok
You aint the 1st and you wont be the last .

Post results of a compression test.----Actual numbers.-----Or remove cylinder head and inspect cylinder walls.----Head gasket is cheap.

if compression #’s are adequate (over 50), run it. If it will idle down slow, you got lucky!

yeah , quite a bit over 50 .

Thanks for the comments.
1. Compression is just over 100-PSI on both cylinders.
2. Idles well, but coughs and smokes a bit as it is running on ~ 24:1 for a gallon or two ... and I fogged the crap out of it.
3. Took it for a spin and it gets to full power. Will monitor closely and cross my fingers.

Yay .....sounds like you got lucky . I have seen some 2 strokes grind to a halt thru lack of lube or overheating , or not enough bore clearance after a rebuild , that suffered no apparent damage .........also seen a few that did ...spectacularly so

100-105 both holes.
