I have a 105 hp chrysler on 85hp force power tilt and trim unit. It works good but it leaks down slowly if i leave it on the power tilt or trim. I read somewhere that this is caused by the valvebody?? is thist true? can u get a rebuilt kit for it?

yes, yes, no. but you can jerry-rig a decent fix using briggs and stratton carb kits. use a transom saver or blocks to hold engine up. it generally seems to take about three years for a system to go from slow drift down to PITA.

Today i found a company on ebay that takes the oem valve body, puts new seals in it, pressure tests it and sends it back for 70$. This seemed like a good deal to me compared to buying a new one i found for 249$. whats your guys opinion?

I'm that guy. yes, it is a good deal if your oem has good threads and have the time to wait.

If you need one yesterday, then the new chinese for $75 off ebay is the only game in town. About 30% of them slow-drip oil from the end plugs. Replace both factory orings with an asa size 015 "hard orings" (hardness rating 90) to fix the drips. Once the drips are fixed the factory defect rate drops to about 10%. You'll notice while replacing the oring that is the wrong size and material. It is like that throughout. Kind of like fixing a warped head by stacking two gaskets. If you have the time to get the oem fixed then it is good to go another 10-20 years. I'd be surprised if the cheap ones made 5 years on a big engine. the metal is too soft and the rubber is very low quality. neither is up to the task of handling 1000psi + trim hydraulics.
