It is a nice unit for sure Troop.....glad we got it instead of a used Merc or trying to rebuild what was left of the old one...

That sure does look good. Hope you get to the water soon.
I bet it was alot easier to do than to rebuild and then install.

I had to order some speedy sleeves and seals for the trailer.....water is getting in the bearings and 2 of the 4 tires have dry rot.... Man this is killing me!

Gonna work on it Saturday and take the row boat out crabbin on Sunday. I need to have some fun!!

Got my new seals and SS races Gonna fix the trailer and put on new tires tomorrow! I hope I can get in the water SOON! Maybe July!!! Man lost half the season already......

So I got on the new seals for the trailer this morning and ran the wheels and tires down to the shop to have them mounted. When i pulled the brake drums all of the seals were bad and letting water into the bearings...:facepalm: Well bust out another $100 bucks for new bearings....Go to the auto store and they only had 2 sets....

I did find 2 more sets at another location and picked them up on the way home....

Tomorrow I say the he!! with the boat I'm going to catch some Jersey blue claws in the morning! When we get home gonna steam them up and make a venison tenderloin on the grill Maybe some baked potatoes and corn on the cob!!!

Rob and I had a great day out in the tinny crab boat See we have drank the cool-aid and have a boat with reevits



Caught us some crabs about 2 dozen by noon. Here's a pic of the first dozen,some good size ones....biggest about 7 1/4"



Here is our dinner feast,marinated venison back straps,peppers and onions in a country course grain mustard white wine sauce,corn on the cob,baked sweet potatoes and the crabs steamed in beer and Old Bay.





Great way to end the weekend!

Still have to install 2 sets of wheel bearings and seals and install the new tires. Then I can resplash her and try to add some stripers and fluke to the dinner table

Whats the latest Rick? I've been lurking your thread for a while now. Really love the story of this boat and your progress. Thanks for the tutorial on the carb rebuild. Ill be doing that with my 1409 here soon. Where did you get the rebuild kit from?

Sorry I have been working out of town for 2 months.....I got the kit online from Jeggs....it's the kit for the Edelbrock carb. Not much time for the boat this season.....work work work!
