Priorities man, priorities..... I've always just used oil on my teak, because it's simpler. The great thing about teak is, gray or not, the stuff can handle the water. Lightly sanding it once a year can keep it new looking too, but the Spar should help in that arena. Hopefully the weather clears up and you guys can get this thing wet! Good luck.

Re: 87 Four Winns 210 Horizon resto

The video will be posted after Rob gets it off the camera.... Boat ran pretty well with only some minor flaws :) I have to tinker with the carb because it stalls when shifting in and out of gear....

Biggest issue is the power steering .... I'm thinking the cable need some oiling up because our cable steering on the other boat is easier to turn than this one... I'll have to look into the system...

Was a great day fishing but the catching sucked......guess that's why it's called fishing :D

So I am beat tired since we started this adventure at 2:30 am and it's almost 10pm.......

I think you'll all like the hole-shot video and a WOT run..... I know we sure did enjoy it :D

Re: 87 Four Winns 210 Horizon resto

Hey Rick...just spent the last 2.5 hrs reading this entire thread from day one to now. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the pics and documentation. I know you've heard this all along from everyone else, but now it's my turn. There were a few times when I wanted to ask a question but I'm not very forum savvy and wasn't sure if I should post a reply (question) to an old post. So I've saved it for now. :)
When you made the drain holes from one compartment to another, why did you drill holes after the fact instead of just making "mouseholes" in the wood to begin with? Wouldn't that make it unnecessary for "ramps" to get the water through? Just a thought.
Well now I'm waiting for the video of the splash. And have been re-energized for my own resto on the runabout tri-hull. I'm glad it won't be as complicated. Not that any of what I saw could be construed as complicated. Just the volume of work. A transom, a few stringers, and a new deck should be all I need. The cap will come off too so I can resto the helm a lot easier with it on some sawhorses.
Once again, thanks so much for sharing this incredible project. I'm also looking forward to your interior work. I DO have that Aquasport 19-6 Family Fisherman to do also. Thank goodness it's all minor work topside.

If anyone can give me a few tips or tricks on how to flip my 15' tri-hull so I can sand and finish the bottom without me being upside down, I would be in your debt. Having Degenerative Disc Disease AND MS really puts a damper on my comfort while doing anything. (Do you suppose I could flip my 19-6 as well...LOL...jus kidding, but if possible, please do tell!!)
