Good lord!

Now that's some mega tin right there. Yeah so maybe drop a pic up on PB that's bigger than a postage stamp and stop teasing the dumb animals. :D

bigger picture, I'll take more tomorow, just towed it home tonight, its got an omc 5.0L V8
it could use a new deck cover like nautolex, some new canvas , better seat mounts, a little work on the inside of the cabin, and a good buff and wax

Do you have a 12 or 14'er. Then we could all hear the tale of Astor and the three tin bears.

Looks awesome.

shhhhhhhhh.... 64osby don't say that too loud! She might hear you.

the Admiral already said she sees a diamond ring in her future when she saw this boat, and you can imagine and probably even feel "the look" I got for promptly and stupidly saying that the new boats name is gonna be "Diamond Ring" :fish:

I actually would like to find a 12 or 14'er with a 15 or 20hp outboard and trailer- I think that would completely fill out the boat yard.

Nice man! Whoa... that is a big boat! Man, she just about completely fills your driveway! Would be neat to have a side by side with the 16'... :)

Oh yeah she's in great shape! I hope you got a great deal on her. Looks like you get to learn the ways of the OMC stern drive now. If it was a MC I would suggest pulling off the outdrive to make sure there wasn't any water in the bellows before winter storage but I know nothing about OMC so I'll leave that up to you.

She looks to be in great condition, like you say a little spit and polish and your ready to go. The only thing I know about OMC Cobra's is the shift cable set-up is very critical to the life of the drive gears. There are pages and pages on the net about it.

Yep-1st inboard/outboard for me, so I've been reading, watching videos, on the OMC cobra issues- particularly with the shift cable. Will definitely be pulling the outdrive in the spring to inspect/grease, actually looking foward to it.

Well enough about big tin on this thread- next posts here will be on the 18' SS. Hoping to get her back on the trailer and back in the shop to start working on putting the interior back together. Would be nice to finish that one up this winter and have both boats to use next year.

Thanks Jim, Its in pretty good shape, but its a boat and they always need something.

Solid boat indeed. I was thinking the same thing.

Thanks Speg, I have been looking for a bigger Starcraft for quite some time now to use out on the big Lakes.

Just getting caught up here and Whoa!!! That is a dandy Islander. She looks to be in real fine shape. I had the Cobra drive in an Islander many a year back and never had any problems with it. Was a much better drive than the old WLOD. If the PO kept as good care of the drive as he did with the hull you should be fine. And your project rig sure looks shiny!

That Islander looks right at home parked next to its little sister. By the way I think the 18 is gonna rock. I can't believe how that finish is so mirror like. Looks great. I've always thought it was mighty ambitious to take a hull down to bare metal and then polish the heck out of it. All that hard work sure paid off in your case.
