Re: 89 Fiesta Vee 250 setbacks, projects, and upgrades!

anyway so it was my idea to come down to the island so they let me lead them past the nice sandy front side around to the inside where the satelite pic promised a secluded beach haven,,,,,
needless to say there was 0 sand on the back side so i continued on around when i reached the head of the island again my depth finder went nuts, it was all i could do to get my outdrive up before clipping the sandy shelf:facepalm: ,,,, in any event we got around to the front side of the sandy island and beached our boats for a sunny fun filled afternoon with close friends and a lil on the fly prop bending 101,,,bahahaha, we had another awesome day and my pride didnt suffer so much once the soda pops and great food started flowing,,,:D
all in all it was a great trip but time to go home,,,, ( i gotta add that was the earliest ive headed back to the dock this year)
so back we went thru montgomery l&d to head home
c55ac89a.jpg

on a side note since it was just after dusk when we entered the beaver river i was enjoying the blue rgb's on our 15 min treck back to the dock,,, and another freind started blowing up my phone,,,,,(he was about a quarter mile behind me) we played show me that color all the way up the channel, and i gotta tell ya pink "ALWAYS MAKES THE LADIES CRAZY" lol and ( the po po was in bed so i went ballistic with all the flashing colors) the jump setting is sweet but the heartbeat fade is totally sick( the remote rocks!)
we had a great time and enjoyed the rare, early return to the slip

i really hope all you guys are having the chance to enjoy the short season that we all live for!

because i cant seem to get in before the dew sets in,,, i have a question for all you guys.
i got rain x on the outside, i got rain x antifog on the inside, and i'm still using a towel to wipe off both sides, what gives? am i the only one that has this issue?

i usually end up standing with my head out the window(like my dog), so i can see where i'm going. who knows, i'll try and re apply and see if it helps any. anyone have any advice?

Re: 89 Fiesta Vee 250 setbacks, projects, and upgrades!

i need some rgb advice guys!
we have a lighted boat parade coming up here at the beaver regatta in a few weeks,,,,,,
so my plan is,,, to take the last 5 meters i have left of the rgb's and space them out along the underside(facing down and in) of my front railing, to get my whole boat to light up in all the fantastic colors that the rgb's bring!
heres a pic of the rail

0d9fd86b.jpg

and a pick of the side rail

rinkerfiestavee2501.jpg

so my question comes in " how do i shield my rgb's mounted on the long rail, from side or direct view from all the onlookers?" kinda like my stern lights up without direct vision of the rgb's

sternrailaddition026.jpg

i've just started to think about this.
i believe that it will light up nicely if i space them out nicely,,,,, my issue is that, how do i shield the rgb's from sight?
spitballing but i was initially thinking foil tape, (should blend in close enough with nightfall) or ?
please help.

i am opening a thread to ask everyone what they think. i'm sure we all will come up with something that will fit the bill

thanks in advance for the advice,
and as always thanks for the replies

I'd probably rip a 1/4 out of a pc of pvc conduit. Foil tape the pvc. Tuck the strings into the pvc, it'll only shine out the 1/4 side gap. and as you bend the pvc to fit the contour of your rail, use foil tape to secure it. Or very small black zip ties. Zip ties won't leave sticky residue on the rail. Might even use pvc big enough to drill a hole for the zip ties, so they're partially hidden. You could also segment the pvc to only run between the sections of rail from upright to upright.

Lite 'em up during the flotilla;)

great idea:D!
like the pvc idea! i could use that to fatten up the rail and hide the rgb's. its at night so the foil tape should be invisable to the onlookers and won't blow around in the wind.
THANK YOU JB!

i'm not quite sure how i'll have to segment the lights for even flow around the front rail and supports, but i do believe you are on to something here!

YOU DA MAN!

I also like the zipstrip idea and not having to peel the sticky foil tape from the rails once all is said and done

I like the PVC (maybe get black to hide better?). I personally would zip tie it around, easier than tape to remove!

Agreed, the foil tape would be a pita to remove. The reason I was thinking of using it was, because shiny metal would disappear on the chrome railings.
Ill have to do a test piece under the rail to see how much I'll have to hide.

I like the PVC idea easy to put on and take off is a nice bonus

Re: 89 Fiesta Vee 250 setbacks, projects, and upgrades!

The front lights didn't work out, looked splotchy!:(
so we rafted up for the festivities and had a great time.

We did see something real funny,
A cruiser waked the carp(missed them by only 10yards) outa 2 police boats rafted not just once but he got them again on the way back through. just across the river from our raft up,,,,,,, we were all in disbelief , but yep eventually they got pulled over,, lol

Another cool thing we been doing lately is kite ing the anchor of the middle of the end boat of the raft, so all our boats take the waves as intended, off the bow. What a difference that makes, we shoulda been doing it that way along time ago, no one gets rashed :)
we are heading down for the drag boats and the rest of today's activities, with the fireworks to top it all off. I hope everyone is getting the time to enjoy

Hey Buggy,

I am kinda jealous of you guys with the bigger boats. My little 18 footer just don't show off the lights like the big dogs. Your boat looks fantastic.

Thanks MW, its appretiated:D.
No worries, I am jealous, every time i fill up,,, or when you guys blast past me, but boating is always a trade off.
I think mine shows the colors well cause everything is white, we used to have black carpet throughout the cockpit. My dogs hair sticking to it changed my mind, and the colors didnt show up nearly as well, so we pulled it.The cockpit is all antiskid, and is now super easy to clean. I also used almost all of the 5meter strip in the cockpit area and under the back rail. do you have any led's left? i have an idea that could light up the middle better.
You got your Mariah hooked up! she's looking sweet man. Enjoy the weekend.

I have that other strip left(that i was gona put on the front rail), I think ill play around with them lighting up the cabin instead,, gota figure the mounting loacation under there yet. to be continued,,,
I changed my vacation days around(because the weather) so I dont officially have to work again till tuesday,,, i'll be floating by noon today,,woooooo
