Hello,
recently purchased a 2001 rinker 242 fiesta vee. It has a 5.0 mercruiser EFI. The starboard valve cover has a 90 degree fitting on it going nowhere. Is this normal? My 350 carb had breather tubes going to the carb

Nope,.... There should be some sorta hose from it, to a port on the flame arrester or there abouts,....

Kinda like yer ole 350,.....

later ones have a check valve on one side and only one hose on the other.

Is there any reason the seller would remove this? I can’t see it masking any kind of a problem

It's just missing the hose tat goes to the flame arrester. It'll leave a bit of oil on the motor from blow by if you don't replace it.
