I have a '93, 115hp v4 crossflow, which does not have a hook eye on top, like my older v4 crossflows. IIRC, the factory service manual has a suggested routing for hoisting straps. The trouble is, I'm at my folks house, where I keep the motor, and the manual is at my house, so I can't access it. Right now, the motor is screwed to a freight palette, standing upright. But I purchased and assembled a wheeled stand so I can move it around and work on it and such. I have a cable hoist that I can hang from the sturdy rafters to do this, as long as I can rig the strapping to the motor in such a way that when I lift it, it remains more or less vertical, without trying to topple.
Anyone know how to describe to me the method of strapping rope or straps to the motor for vertical lifting?
