'93 v4 crossflow hoisting strap routing?

I have a '93, 115hp v4 crossflow, which does not have a hook eye on top, like my older v4 crossflows. IIRC, the factory service manual has a suggested routing for hoisting straps. The trouble is, I'm at my folks house, where I keep the motor, and the manual is at my house, so I can't access it. Right now, the motor is screwed to a freight palette, standing upright. But I purchased and assembled a wheeled stand so I can move it around and work on it and such. I have a cable hoist that I can hang from the sturdy rafters to do this, as long as I can rig the strapping to the motor in such a way that when I lift it, it remains more or less vertical, without trying to topple.

Anyone know how to describe to me the method of strapping rope or straps to the motor for vertical lifting?

I would put a flywheel puller on and use rope/cable under the puller. I've done this before with a number of motors and it works well. Just be sure the rafters can handle a 400 # plus load safely.

Good idea. I have one of those at my house. I guess I will wait to move the motor from the shipping pallet to the motor stand until my next visit to my folks house.

As a point of reference, I think the v4 crossflow is closer to 300# than 400#, but your point is well taken. If the rafters are only good for 300# then a 300# motor would be a little too close for comfort.
