Problems,
I ran motor on muffs at high rpm. Impeler melted.
Replaced inpeller, no water.
Remover LU again. Impeller was turned backwards is my guess, it shered the white shim.
Installed the impeller the right way. Still no water..
From what information i get online or from manual doesn't help. Is this water pump set up correct? or should the garment on top be installed inside the midsection?
There is no blockage from the pump through the tub.
How can i check for blockage in the midsection? The motor was just removed and rebuilt.
The old impeller melted, it didnt come apart.

Pictures are not a lot of help.

Have you jimmy rigged a hose to the pickup tube to if you have flow? No flow means block passages generally.

I boat in salt, so at the end of every season after flushing I pull the stats and replace or put them in a small cup of salt away.

No flow at the tell tail (pisser) means bad pump or draw tube, no engine flow means overheat. Right now you don't know either. Just do the steps and you will find out....no smoking gun here.

The drive wedge must be wedged (locked) against the impeller in order to drive it. So grab the impeller, and turn the driveshaft CW to lock it.

The wedge is just a solid piece of plastic. If it is not locked, I would think it could be damaged, and the impeller slip. Also, make sure you use the correct wedge. The water pump kits come with more than one.

I flushed the motor throug the tube with a water hose with the t stats out. All clear

I pulled the impeller out. Its fine, reinstalled the black wedge with impeller. I hand turned the drive shaft. Turns fine..

Im thinking the upper tube garment is laying over and blocking the water flow.

Im installing it this evening

Im installing horizontal, could yhat efevt lining the tube up om doing by myself by hand.

I had a 94 175 and I don't remember that lighter colored plastic tube ever coming out with the pump?
The kit also came with 2 or 3 different lengths of the black extension tubes, are you sure you're using the right one?

No, horizontal is how it's done.

Its done and running. I took the top garment and used black tape under an over ot about an 1/8 in. Slide it in there and bolted it up.
I used s hoist this time. It allowed me to push it a little at a time.
Thanks guys for the tips.
