What is the special order to torque the nuts that hold the exhaust manifold to the head?

I actually had to use a dremel to grind & sand the crud attached to the head in order to get a smooth surface again. Yes I was careful not to remove much material, just the crap that needed to go.

Are you talking intake or exhaust manifolds?

Start in the center and work your way out to the ends.

Am I losing it? I could have sworn he said INTAKE manifold...

No, he didn't say intake or exhaust originally, he did go back and edit the post to say exhaust.

Thanks. Don have you or anyone ever had to grind the crud off the head to make a smooth surface again? (exhaust manifold) It was more than just the old gasket, there was cast almost welded itself to the head, maybe part of a corroded manifold?
