Thanks for posting! Been kinda scarce in this thread! lol

Some of the iBoaters shy away from doing their own final.... Having a thread devoted to it & paint, well there ya go.....

It's too bad, the vinyl work looks good! It should get some attention at the boat dock, esp after new paint work....

Thanks! I think the vinyl has turned out really well so far.

Been a while with no updates and its not due to lack of me working on the boat. I have learned a lot.

DO NOT ROLL GELCOAT!!

After hours and hours fixing that mistake I am back on the right track!

First sprayed new gelcoat with a Harbor freight gun with a 1.8 tip and after a few coats it was great.


Here is a pic of spraying the gelcoat-

This is a picture after coat number 3 on Fire Red Brightside paint.

Going to be doing the last coat of red tomorrow Any tips on final coat finish? Do I polish it or buff it or anything?

Its a little cold today so I might pass on the last coat of red for tomorrow. I will get it sanded and wipe it clean today. I feel like I am getting so close!!

Well, My red is done but I have been sick so I havn't worked on the boat in 2 days. Hope I can kick this soon so I can get her finished. I am dieing to hit the lake! I have a few questions.

Is there a wait time for the paint before I can put her in the water?
Do I need to do something to the edge of the paint? seems like water will build up pressure on the edge and chip away at the paint?

I have now been thinking to save my marriage , I should buy and put on perfect pass as well. I think this will make my boating experiece much more fun this summer! I should have some great pictures tomorrow of the upholstry finished, Not installed yet, but finished ready to go in!

Got about half the interior put back in last night. Starting to look lake worthy again. Today I am going to finish the interior tonight and hope to finish tinting the windows and installing the tower tonight also. Leaving me with small stuff to finish tomorrow before I hit the lake!

Good looking boat nice job.....Laughs your journey has just begun.Hmmm yu need to accent that bow with a lower large boot line..It would look hot...trust me there. This is your thread ill delete that link shortly have fun
