Probably not. There were 135s back in the 1970s, but other than that they were 120s and 125s. Even if you did squeeze a little more out you probably wouldn't notice it.<br /><br />Are you sure that's the max Hp for that boat? A lot of 17 footers will hold that motor. The good news is that once you get beyond 20ft, the "requirememt" goes away. You can hang anything on it you want. Of course the hull has to be able to tolerate it, and insurance issues might get sticky if you go over the max. But it isn't illegal once the boat is over 20' (check your state, but those are the USCG rules that most states adopt).<br /><br />Oh, I just figured out the ****ed.

(hint ****le = acne.)<br /><br />Something interesting just crossed my mind ... twins. I don't recall ever seeing twin Forces on anything. You already have the boat and one motor. Is there room for it? They're skinny. Sure would catch some looks.
