For whatever it is worth I have almost the exact same boat but in outboard style, and I absolutley adore it. Great ride very dry and smooth as silk.

Here is the nada value. I believe it the value went up a bit when you changed it to the 190hp from the 135hp. Either way, he's not correct when he says its under nada.

I live here in phoenix as well. Do NOT pay 8k for that boat. If I were you, and you're losing sleep over the boat, I would do like others have suggested and offer him somwhere around 6-6,500 cash. See where he goes from there, and make your decision. He obvioulsy doesn't have people knocking down his door to buy it, if he's calling you back.

If you've been watching craigslist for a while you may have seen the 2009 Crowline with 10hrs..I believe it had a tower, 4.3 nice trailer ect. He started I believe at 26,000, a few weeks later he was at 15k. This boat was 34k new.

Unless you are stuck on a Glastron, I might take a look at this boat.http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/boa/916231620.html I have conversed with the seller, and I'm very confident you can get under 7k, probably close to 6,500. Has the Bimini top, 4.3 and a much better seating arrangement(my opinion) if you plan on taking friends out. That Glastron has the bench seat, which really reduces the space in the boat, along with 2 captains chairs...This Sea Ray has back to back seating with jumpseats which will make the boat feel much bigger inside. Again, my opinion.

Here are some nice pictures of this boat, the seller sent me. Good Luck.

I am of the opinion that NADA values are not current, because of the massive changes in boat values in the last few months. We are at a moment in economic history that has never happened before and no "price guide" can stay current and be accurate at this point The real world is the only answer. It is worth only what someone will pay for it, not what the seller thinks its worth. Ike

cube21,

DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE NAY SAYER'S.

They do not know jack sheet about this subject, as far as GLASTRONS.

You'll love this boat IF you get it!

Glastrons hold their value!!!

Just my 2 cent's.

;)

Easy there. I was in a Glastron this week. It was a POS. Folks around here will tell you, a boat, I don't care what name brand, is only as good as its taken care of. Period.

He may very well love this Glastron...great. Thats not the point. The point is, in this economic time, the price the seller is listing it at is way too high cosidering all that is out there and what boats are selling for. Its only going to get worse for a while.

MTribe - That is a good looking boat. In fact, we might be able to look at it today. The only reason I hadnt looked at it before is because we live in North Phoenix and hadn't found the time to make the trip. Weve been in Tucson this weekend and Im hoping we can stop on our way back.

Thanks everyone for your input. Ill let everyone know if I go any further with this Glastron. All your help is appreciated!

Called the owner of the 97 Sea Ray, he sold it TODAY!
We were a day too late and potentially would have bought the damn thing.
Anyway, he unloaded it for 6k. And this Glastron guy wants 8,800! Not going to happen. Its a 2 year newer boat with far less extras...for almost another 3k.

Were keeping an eye out. We really want to look at some others...weve only test-ridden one boat, so theres plentyof research to do yet before we buy. PLus we have all winter. If anything else comes up I will posta new tread and have you all give me some more pointers.
Thanks again everyone.

Wow..even lower than I thought he'd go. Just goes to show you, in this market, cash talks. Another reason why over the next year or so its going to be a great time to be in the market for a boat. :D

If I were you, I would make sure you look at a boat with the Sea Ray's interior setup. You'll find you have alot more room in the boat as compared to the Glastron you tested. You'll be happy you did, if you plan to bring your friends aboard.

Not sure if this is too much boat for you or not...but looks like a really nice boat at a fair starting point. You might be able to get down around 7k for it.

Looks good, we want a smaller, lighter boat with a 4.3, or possibly a 5.0 (not likely) if its a GREAT deal.
17-20 feet probably.

This one is a few years older, but it has the same size motor, and bimini for $6k. You might even be able to get the boat for less than the asking price.

I saw that one...may be worth looking at. But I'm not in favor of that interior set up if you plan on regularly having alot of people on the boat. JMO.

This may be worth a look. Can't tell if its beat up or not..Craigslist tends to butcher pictures.

This might be worth a look. Looks to have what you want..even with the 5.0.
