Sad news for me to read today. I enjoyed the trivia contests he used to organize and respect the time he was willing to put in with all of the members here.

Farewell.

Re: A Tribute to and Remembrance of Lester Wright (SBN)

I have been at a loss for words to say the last few days, but it is now clearer to me.

For all of you in Lester's family, I thank you for sharing his life with us. He indeed touched many thousands by his life.

I have thought of him often this last few weeks and though I will not get the opportunity to meet him on these waters, I will think of him and y'all when I reach into the tacklebox.

May God bring peace to your hearts and turn your tears of grief to tears of joy.

How very sad. I hate that I haven't checked in sooner. My heart and prayers go out to Lester's family and friends.

Thanks, Phillip for the email and thank you Ladyfish for starting such a thoughtful thread about our friend.

Smooth sailing Les.

This is tough to write. Lester was a special person, indeed. He and I talked on the phone dozens of times but, sadly, I was not privileged to ever meet the man in person. I will greatly miss him.

The iboats family of employees pay their respects to both Lester and his family. During senior management meeting today we ended the meeting remembering Lester and the great contributions he gave to both iboats and the tens of millions of people who visit our great little web site.

Lester donated many thousands of hours to helping others. May we all follow his example and help others just a little bit more. Please consider donating to his memorial fund to help his family. http://thelesterwrightmemorialfund.giving.officelive.com/

God speed Lester and don't catch all the big fish in heaven before we get there! :)

I am Lester's son-in-law, Terry aka wormbait. Lester and I shared the love for fishing. We went paylake fishing, but didn't get to do as much fishing as I would have liked to do. He loved the spinnerbait and I love the wormbait. I am honor to be now part of something he loved and to share my boating and fishing experiences with you all at iboats. Like to hear from all the knowledgable fishman on here and their experiences boating.

Thanks,
Terry

Welcome wormbait. I am sure you will find a lot of the same enjoyment that Lester found here. From the sounds of your posts so far, you will fit in well in this community. Fishing is off the table for me right now ... it is hunting season! There are only 2 seasons to every year ... fishing season and hunting season!

Re: A Tribute to and Remembrance of Lester Wright (SBN)

Well, I've been reading some of the great tributes to this man for a few days and I'm impressed with the lasting impact he had on those that knew him and even those that directly didn't.
I didn't know him personally, but I did get the feeling he was a very nice, reasonable guy by the manner in which he posted and responded to people here on Iboats, including myself.
So here is to raising a glass and toasting what very well seemed to be one of the real good guys and there are too few of them these days.
Here's to you Lester and although you are missed, you are in a better place with hopefully some very good fishing and nice calm water.
Cheers, Regards and Condolences to your family.

Been away for a while and figured I'd scroll down to dockside and read a bit. Wow!! What a shock...... Life is a fragile and precious thing which is unfortunately often overlooked until we are dealt such a heavy blow as a loss of someone dear to us.

May God bless the Wright family and give them the wisdom to thank their creator for sharing Lester and allowing their faith to one day reunite them for ever.Amen.

I have been away from the puter for a while, working in Northern Alberta. I read this yesterday at work. What a shock. Lester, thank you for all all the help you have given us here at iboats. You will be missed dearly by your extended iboats family. Rest in Peace. We know now you are in a better place. Our condolences and prayers to the Wright Family.

Welcome aboard *.bait, members and other members of Lester's family. Let the tradition continue.

Best wishes,

Rob.

I was away from the computer for a few days and missed this, I found it from another thread, I have read many posts from Les and agree he was a true friend to anyone he had contact with. I am sorry to hear this, my condolences to the family and all that knew and loved him. May he rest in peace. He will surely be missed.

Re: A Tribute to and Remembrance of Lester Wright (SBN)

Wow... I haven't posted much over the years, I usually just drop by when I get a chance and lurk around to see what's up and chuckle at the friendly bantor without posting. It's always good to see so many 'old' folks still enjoying each other's company, along with newer folks joining in.

But when I read about Les... I have a lot of great memories of his personality and his outlook on life in general. He got it. He really did. He's one of those guys that rekindles my faith in the human race, that there really are good people in this world doing the right things. And it sounds like the legacy he left behind is as valuable to the human race as he was. Good man.

Godspeed, SBN, and toss back a few of those lunkers in Heaven so we can catch a few together some day.
