Accident at boat ramp

Well I took my freshly restored 1960 Crestliner Falcon out on her second run yesterday. She ran even better after the light decarbonating . The only problem I have had is when its time to put her back on the trailor.The first trip the wife fell on me while getting out of the boat( shes a big girl and hope she doesnt ever read this thread) and yesterday the friend wth me slipped on some algae while holding the rope for me and banged his head and scraped his arm. Lucky he wasnt hurt. Next trip Im going by myself. Ive never fallen while trying to take the boat out.

Dude, you just godsmacked yourself, be careful!

My wife fell out of our boat, onto the dock last weekend. Nothing hurt but her pride.

While waiting to trailer my boat two weeks ago I watched an older fella slip on some green sea algae and smack his head on the ramp. In the process of flopping, his shoe flew out into the water. After supressing my laughter I manuevered my boat and retrieved his shoe for him.

I took a fall on a ramp once. Hurt like hell. Now, I'm uber cautious if I have to get my feet wet.

3 weeks ago I fell of my trailer while pushing the boat off,I was trying not to get my shoes wet mrseagle was bringing my sandles to me but I couldn't wait took off my shoes was standing on trailer giving a little push and next thing I see is water and mrseagle wishing she had a camera

You can't call yourself an experienced boater till you fall at the ramp or the dock at least once. I've fallen so many times, I don't know what they classify me as (clumsy). One time I was standing on the bow of my parents' cabin cruiser, idling up to the dock, and right before we got to the dock, my stepfather nailed it in reverse "to slow down" and sent me flying over the bow rail. Luckily I made a leap of faith and landed on the dock sans bow rope.

One time I went to help my friend guide his boat on the trailer, and due to some people "power loading" I walked right off the end of the ramp. At least my audience of about 50, well, probably 10, but seemed like 50,000 got a good laugh.

One dock we used one time came out in an L shape, and as I approached the turn, I stubbed my toe on a plank sticking up, and my weight kept me going, right off the edge of the dock.

My one question in all of this is, how come whenever you bust your "tail bone," you can never do it without an audience? There is ALWAYS an audience present. Heck, I am just gonna hand them the judge's score cards so they can rate my fall. I think my best score would be straight 10's across the board!!

have not fallen yet BUT, when I back the empty trailer in I have to drop my tailgate in order to see where the trailer is...... I have walked in to the open tailgate many MANY times.

I plan to go to another ramp next week by myself. ..2 trips and 2 falls with 2 people other than me..I ant pushin my luck.

Too funny! Ahhh the description of your wife's... ahhh sature. (married to a big bottom gal too!) I think my buddy set a record this summer, Fell OUT of the boat twice and INTO the boat once, LOL We were clippin along down the lake standing up (as I can see any floating logs better) when he says something to me, I cannot hear exactly what for the wind and the 5.7 crusing at 3k but he is looking over my shoulder so i naturally look over my right shoulder, ahhh he is commenting on the hotties on a pontoon boat behind us, I turn around to nod in agreement but he is gone! I mean he pulled a Harry Houdini! I notice his drink on the dash spilled and rolling back and forth but he is nowhere to be found, I finally look down into the Cuddy, Ah Hah there he is all sprawled out. My cordination challenge friend had fallen of the step down! (about 2 foot) right in front of the hotties! AH hah hah. That's my Buddy!

didn't happen to me nor was i there but a friends story
he and a couple of his buddies went fishing about a month ago.
(A) backed his boat & trailer in, (B) was standing on the dock holding the rope , (C) got on the tongue to push the boat off.
the boat gave way sharply and (C) slipped coming down nose first on the winch post blowing his nose apart.
the hospital took presidence over fishing that day.
got goose pumps all over when he told me that.

that fishing group have some real storys.
(A's) brother deside's to go out by himself one day and don't ask me why he did this.
tied the rope to his left wrist "door open" backed the boat down the ramp then hit the brakes to slide it off.
boat slides off and pulls him out of the truck.
truck almost runs over him as it also slides into the water.

(A), (B) and (C) go fishing another day, (A) got drunk before they took off and it's his boat.
(B) says hey were going down stream.
(A) gets mad and says bull, i know up stream from down stream.
the other two set there, ok it's your boat.
several minutes later (A) says hey we are going down stream.
been a common joke ever since.

I almost went into the water last night. The ramp was so slippery, I just slid down, managed to grab the boat and stay up. But there was NO traction on the slimy ramp. I need to find shoes that grip in that kind of muck. I'm going to break my neck one of these times.
