tuck all the way down is for taking off (hole shot) as you start to pickup speed and the bow drops, start to trim out until you get max speed. too far out you start to suck air and loose speed and water pickup for cooling. my boat when i come out of the hole, if i don't trim up, it pushes my bow down and it plows water, as i start to trim up, my bow comes up and the spray line move to the back of the boat. with this boat there is a 12 mph difference, between bad trim and good trim.
it's all an experiment, as each boat handles a little different.
