Seems as though the internal portion of my trim sender is bad. Have continuity from gauge to ball. With sender installed, resistance at sender to ground varies between 5 and 40 ohms, but is not linear, so gauge moves up and down, and never reflects true position. A little up from full down might read 20 ohms, or 40 ohms, and a little down from full up might read 20 ohms or 40 ohms, and same thing anywhere in between, as well as either full up or down extremes. Resistance varies, but nothing like it should.

Is there an aftermarket assembly that can be installed instead of factory sender, which will work with current gauge (Teleflex for OMC)? Or, can an external sender from another model be modified or mounted somehow, to show correct trim position?

Also, along the same lines, just tested boat for first time (was stored for 15 years). 1972 20' Wellcraft (V20) center console. Tilt/Trim seem to work fine when still, but when underway, motor only seems to trim up a little, and no tilt while moving along at speed. Not that we need to tilt or trim much as bow still seems a little high with motor all the way down, but is that normal for no tilt at speed? Fluid level was full, but cycled and topped of anyway.

Thanks in advance,
Rob
