Small straight round stock is used with bellow expander tool (upper left in pic u attached ) to expand and hold in place the exhaust bellows to bell housing. The small rod goes through the bellows expander and holds the tool in the exhaust port of the bell housing while expanding the bellows to stretch the exhaust bellows into place so you can glue and clamp it. Probably you tube videos of bellows replacement where u will see this in use.I am unsure about that small straight piece. My drive isn't alpha 2 drive so will these work. I have purchased the bellows kit and it came with bearing as well
Ok they weren’t shown in original pic, i think on some of the kits you need to drill the hole in the alignment tool for the driver ‘pucks’ to fit on. The key thing with the gimbal bearing to to make sure you are only driving on the outer race and it is fully seated. Ive done it with a 1” wooden dowel and 3” pvc pipe And a BFHYes and a hinge pin tool
i think so but bearing may have been superseded since then So I’m not sure.I did notice a snap ring holding bearing in and I assume it goes back it
Snap ring predated the alpha drive, M/MR/alpha gen one ( all more or less the same drive) will fit on an MC1 transom housing, a common replacementYes It's old alpha drive.
Naw, it's an MC-1 drive,.....Yes It's old alpha drive.
Ayuh,..... An MC-1,....This is my drive
Best to order by serial number of the drive should be on the side near the vent plug on the upper as even within drive families there are differences. So when I get parts I go for mc-1. Not prealpha or alpha 1 then right
