Alpha 1 Oil Leak

This Late Winter/Early Spring I replaced all bellows, water lines and cables. Finally had time and money to get boat out to the lake for a day of fun. I Found that I had a leak from the outdrive :(. I have a 94' Alpha 1 (gen 2) outdrive, and the leak is coming from halfway down the outdrive from the area of the speedo tube hookup to the lower unit. I pulled lower unit to be sure all seals were in place, and looks to me they are. While lower unit was off, I noticed oil leaking from the upper unit, same area. Where the forward/Reverse shaft comes out of upper casting, there is a slot on bow side of casting where there is oil seeping out (must of been were it was coming from in the first place, just was too hard to see in there with the lower unit on). Is there A seal on the transom I missed or something of that matter?
I appreciate your help in advanced.

Pull the drive, drain the gear lube and do a pressure check. Use some soapy water to locate the leak. The bubble from the soapy water will tell you exactly what is leaking.

Re: Alpha 1 Oil Leak

I still have been to busy to remove the outdrive to do a pressure test, but I figured if I posted a picture, it might give a better explanation. The leak is coming from the slot on the foward/reverse shaft. I believe this area is called Anti sihpon cavity?.

Thanks
