MY bad. Didn't realize the engines needed to come out to do so. Oh well, good excuse to get an overheard hoist setup!

If you got a garage with a tall enough ceiling maybe.

But a good tree with a real strong branch and a 3/4 ton comealong will do.

You need a least 8- 10 feet above the engine bay to clear the transom.

Closer to 10 feet. And the drive got to come off first.

Re: Alpha I Generation Compatability

Yea like that.

Just happened i used a 2 bye 12 lashed between 2 trees and i pulled the boat in between the trees under the Beam. It's still there, i didn't want to damage the trees, with nails.

Been a few motors dangling off that beam. And maybe a deer this year.

That way if i was off a little i moved the comealong over ether way.

I had to pull out from under the motor about 8 times.

Cause i pulled the motor. Pull out the boat from under the motor. And lower it to the pallet on the ground.

Just knew it would be easier.

Re: Alpha I Generation Compatability

Thanks for all the replies and help. I plan to study the manuals, acquire some Gen II sterndrives and transom assemblies, then pull the engines. Will be a good time to put some new gaskets on the engines to seal up a few minor leaks, paint 'em, and give the engone compartment a good cleaning and painting.

Guess I'll be welding up a place to put the hoist...the gunnels sit over 6 feet high as she sits on the trailer.
