Re: Am I missing something?
suzuki40 -- please dont get the idea we are putting you down or trying to make you feel bad. Personaly I've seen what can happen. I've been racing with the guy who never came back to the ramp. I've helped friends get their boat ready to race and watched them leave the dock -- and never saw them again. And this was at events that were sanctioned with medical personel, safty inspectors, divers, helicopters, rescue boats and ambulances. These were professional folks who knew exactly what they were doing and had many years experiance doing it.

To be honest, chine walking is one of the least dangerous things that can, and will happen. If you think that was bad, wait til you experience a true "blowout".

Remember what I said about getting wet. Be careful. Keep in mind that when you are out there learning how your new boat reacts, its not like a sanctioned event where trained professional people are standing by to help.

I know you said you took your jacket (was it at least a 100 mph impact jacket?), were you wearing it? How about the kill switch lanyard, were you wearing it?
