Re: Am I spinning my prop enough rpms?

tmt, what happened when you moved the motor up was not what I am used to seeing. Usually the RPM goes up and speed as well, and going by the numbers I show that your speed went up 1 mile an hour but your RPM went down 100 RPM, and that is not the way it usually works.

I am assuming that the setback and the angle of the 2nd step is reacting different than I am use to or could it be that the numbers you gave me weren't exact from the initial testing but were just close. I need to think about this until tomorrow and I will get back with you then.

The first test run: With 1/2 tank of gas, 2 people, at wot 5000rpm-34mph.
Second test with extra 40lbs and 12gl more fuel. The motor up on the 3rd notch no hydrofoils 4900rpms-35mph. Then porpoising.

Hope this helps, thank tmt

This is for hawsiii, I had a broke ring on the number3 piston. I had the motor rebuilt and after its broke in, I will try to get the right prop.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I found a used prop and I'am going to run it today, its a 3 blade stainless, 15 pitch.
Only have 2 hours on rebuilt power head so getting full rpms is going to have to wate. 10 hours or so.

thanks t
