IOther than that, W has stuffed too much crap, Judge nominations down the throats of the people, lied to many times, lead the loss of freedom and violated the constitution to expect the new congress to trust or work with him.

Maybe reconstruction of America can start when we get a new president, be they Repub. or Demo. If we can just make it thru the last 2 years of one of the worst leaders in our country.

Judge nominations: every President has that responsibility.

Lied: that's a matter of opinion and speculation.

Lead to loss of freedom: if referring to the the Patriot Act, it would have come out of any administration that was in power.... it needed to happen.

Violated the constitution: if referring to wire taps... again, a matter of opinion. You show me a dozen who say it is a violation and I'll show you a dozen who say it isn't.

New congress: of course they have to work with him.. He is the President of the United States that we the people have voted in, TWICE!

Might we see a playing out of the "Be careful what you wish for" syndrome when the Dems realize they are now responsible for addressing all the things they criticized in the past few years?

VERY good point. Only time will tell. I hope the new majority withdraws us from Iraq, slowly, intelligently, and with a plan, something baby bush never had.

You HOPE they withdraw with a plan?????!!!!! I thought there platform included a plan. Wow, did they lie to their constituency?

I can see it now, they are frantically working in their offices ordering late night chinese food delivery trying to come up with "the plan" that will appease the American people. Good luck. Just under half of the country agrees with the current plan and the others hate it.... how can we expect complete pacification of everyone? We can't and we need to stop.

Re: America has spoken

I heard today that the average vote separation between the repub who lost and the dem who won was 4,000 votes. There are 4,000 voting precincts.... that means one voter per voting precint separated them......... I wouldn't call that "America Speaks".

Anyone else heard this comparison?

**********

Pres Bush's presidency will go down in history as one of the most difficult, if not the most difficult, presidency to have been in. I think the hand of cards dealt to him during his tenure would have been difficult for anyone. I know he's not perfect, but he's done a decent job given the absolutely awe-inspiring challeges he's had. I wouldn't have wished it on anyone.

Re: America has spoken

Democrats made gains. They still don't have more representatives than do the Republicans. There are two independents in the senate. In fact I think one of them was thrown under the bus by the new democratic "leadership". (I find that word funny)

I think there are going to be many interesting days watching the likes of Alcie Hastings (Impeached Judge), John (Abscam) Murtha, William Jefferson (Freezer boy), Ted (I forgot she was in my oldsmobile) Kennedy Purging the likes of Linc Chaffey can only help the Republicans and the resurrection of Trent Lott after his media inspired lynch job is indeed encouraging. I am far more comfortable with the new leadership than the old.

Dems in the minority in the senate, yep the people have spoken. What exactly have they said? To see the new crop of democrats cannot be interpreted to be an affirmation of the existing democratic leadership's direction.

The only thing I can difinitively derive from this election is that Rupublicans really got fat, stupid and lost their understanding of conservative. Corruption and failure to follow your promises can only have the result it did.

Sorry Tx,

Your new buddies just spoke volumes today. NO MURTHA. Tough break when you are trying to flex your new found power, lil Nanc. Now she gets to play with her good friend Stenny. I have to laugh. She took to threatening her own caucus. Nice.

Moderates seem to deny the cowardise of Run Away. Just remember Tx, this is your party of choice. Enjoy. This could end up being a coup for the Republicans.

Txw, I was in a lumber yard today and saw this on the wall, and of course thought of you.

The manager was kind enough to copy it for me and told me to make good use of it....

This is for you...
