Anode Question

This might seem like a dumb question, and probably is, but here goes anyway.

In the merc anode kits I bought, there are serrated washers included with the new fasteners. Do these washers go directly under the head of the bolt, or between the anode and the drive itself, to help ensure a good contact between the anode and the drive? Or does it even matter?

Serrated washer goes under the head of the bolt. They ensure good electrical contact between the bolt and the anode. The threads of the bolts ensure good contact between the bolt and the drive.

Well kinda like that the washers make contact between the bolt and the drive and the threads make contact between the anode and the bolt.

Did you get the correct anodes for the type of water you are using the boat in?

zinc or aluminum.

They are magnesium, for fresh water only.
