Re: Another Florida Summer Roundup

Kimi, My prayers are with you for strength dealing with your loss. I always felt like the feelings of sadness ebbed and waned like the tides. I tried to remember it would pass and time would make it all easier to bear, never to be gone completely, but good memories begin to outweigh the sad. We will see you soon and have a long 'girl' talk. I love my husband, but really need a girlfriend sometimes! We have to be hauled out to survery damage on Monday and get some estimates. I may have to stay and wash boats or something to pay our rent, but we will be on our way some day. Everyone take care and don't flock to see my dance on the aft deck until it gets at least above the 46 degrees we have here today.
Later, Stay Green, First Mate Carole and Skipper Skip

Hey Kimi and Fireman,

I'm so sorry for your loss...

Fireman, I agree with you 100% and then some regarding remembering and cherishing the life of our loved ones.

Stay strong and live well.

I hope to see you guys again soon.

Alright..enough of this sad crap....

I'm starting a new thread soon...time to party. Someone pick a date and place. We're going to do a big bash at my place late May or early June. Do boats have to be involved for an iBoats get together? Lotsa people, great food, live band, maybe even beer or two...anyone interested?

I'm in western Volusia county, just off of the St. Johns River (30 min West of Daytona Beach, about an hour or so South of St. Augustine).

Lemme know if there's any interest....

Just remember, never grieve for the loss or mourn the death, celebrate the life he had and cherish the things he did that stay with you. That way, he is never truly gone.

Condolences to Kimi and family and Fireman and family.

Thank you VH! We miss you guys as well. Sasto, Kimi, NLain & crew...even the ones we spent only a few moments with. Actually, those guys are the closest ones around (Mnypitboat, NSBCraig, Alexr254, Coolguy147....I'm talking about you!)

When we get more in place, Stick and I will set a date and I'll start another thread. Maybe we can get some of these lurkers to come out of hiding and join in on the reindeer games!

I'm one of "those lurkers". So I guess I'm invited? :D

As previously mentioned their are many paved roads between here and there, also airplanes. But a charter trip with Sasto is out of the question.

Alright, Buddy,Here we go. Can't wait to get together again. This isn't even about the boats. This is simply getting together with friends. Sure... we'll talk a bunch about boats and boating... heck, we may even go out on one. I don't even care about that. It's a non-issue. I'm just really looking forward to some quality time with friends.
Three hours there, three hours home.
AWESOME!!!
Yea...you're gonna wanna drive home after one of my parties...
Sure, why not? Three hours there(Saturday)... and three hours back(Sunday). One quality which our friend nlain simply does not posess... Stupidity;) Same, of course, for Mrs. nlain

It's certainly not my place to speak for sasto: but I can read posts as well as anyone else here, in addition to having the honor of knowing the man personally... I believe you could talk him in to it; but I can almost guarantee he'll be really looking forward to simply getting together... No chartering, no Captaining, no fishing(well, other than fishing the next beer out of the cooler or fridge:rolleyes:). Just be there Swabbie!!! Let the chips fall where they may...

...Once again, Swabbie, We'd all love to meet you in person.:)

Hey Fireman start the thread!

Lets work it out there are a lot more people lurking that live near you.

And let me know if you need help finding a band to play, I know everyone would love Acoustic Swamp Project.

Your guarantee is guaranteed, veritas honus!

I think Swabbie is afraid of us. We may never get him back home.

Re: Another Florida Summer Roundup

Fireman!!! So sorry to hear you lost a family elder. It's hard when we have to start taking their places in line and find we may not measure up. At least that is the way I felt.
NOW: You mentioned everyone but me! If you're still mad about the plug (if someone didn't hear about that, contact me, tee hee) then I will have to admit I did the same thing. Only I did it to Skip. (Tee Hee again) anyway. I said I wouldn't go back to Boat Tree, but you know I'm getting used to eating my own words. If it means going to a party just let us know (unless you don't allow ambulance chasers. Tee Hee again and again) I'm beginning to think we were a lot safer on the river. We have to wait another two days (7 total) to get into the lift here at Titusville so the insurance company can see the props and shafts and zincs. We drove her in off the mooring ball this afternoon and tied up. I don't expect there is as much damage to the underside as the diver claimed. but anyway we will get estimates on the fiber glass and rail posts and hopefully be on our way to Nettles Island. Why don't you try to get there and we'll gather over a cooler and talk about Spring? Can't wait to see friends.
Later. Stay green. I'm gonna go eat some electricity and chock up some computer time until we get to Sasto's to get my new batteries.

Re: Another Florida Summer Roundup

Carole, I wasn't sure if you'd be back in time for the party. If you're in S. Florida (or hopefully Bermuda/Bahamas, etc.) then you'd prob have to grab a rental car. Of course you're invited...all are. It goes without saying. I'm not sure if DeckSwabber has the true intentions of making it down, but the more the merrier...

NSBCraig, thanks for the info. We have a band lined up right now (friends of ours), but if something falls thru closer to the event, I'll make sure to PM you to get more info.

As far as a boat ride goes, my hut is 10 minutes from the marina. After the festivities wear off (I'm figuring Sunday around 10:30 :D), I see no reason we can't go out and exercise the engines a bit. I'm pretty sure the beer on the boat is just as cold...

If I remember correctly, you have an ice-maker on the boat. You have a large cooler, too.:D If you're wrong about the beer on the boat... We can remedy that.;)

Re: Another Florida Summer Roundup

wELL, IF we don't get out of this marina soon, we may still be in Titusville! At least I caught up on the laundry and am writing my fingers to the bones on free WIFI.
I not only have an ice maker, i have 2 refrigerators and an cooler that plugs in to the battery so bring it on!
I'll just go ahead and have a beer anyway and think about you all.
