Another Gimbal Bearing Question

I just finished replacing my gimbal bearing and boots. Had her out on the water yesterday for the first time to see how she ran and there is a significant vibration coming from the drive that wasn't there before. It gets worse at higher speeds and turning. I just pulled the drive again and the only obvious thing i found wrong was on of the o-rings that ride under the bearing was broke. the bearing looks fine and the shaft looks fine. The u-joint looks great as well.

When I installed the bearing, I put in the freezer to contract it and help it slide in. I aligned the bearing with my alignment tool. I had troubles getting the drive on because of too much grease on the o-rings so i removed it. When I removed it the bearing came out with the shaft so I hammered it back in, cleaned everything, replaced the o-rings and lightly greased them. Drive slid right on with ease the second time. When I pulled the drive this time, the bearing was still fully seated in the housing. I don't really know what to do except get another bearing and try again? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, my drive is an Alpha 1 Gen 2.

Ayuh,.... That's odd,..... Is there any wear marks inside the housin', where the bearin' is driven into,..??

How did it go in the 2nd time,..??

You realigned it again, Right,..??

The second time it went in really easy and I did realign. Just got the bearing out. It came out really easy. Two maybe three slides of the hammer. The bearing doesn't seem tight at all and there's a lot of grey material inside the race. I must of messed something up in there. New sealed bearing is on its way.

And I can't see any wear other then the grey material inside the race. On a side note, I got tired of lifting this heavy beast and made this out of one of my wives palettes.

Ayuh,.... Post a picture of the castin' where the bearin' goes,....

It's supposed to be a resistance fit,...

That's the grey material I was talking about. The bearing is very loose in the outer race.

The first 2 pics do not look like the proper gimbal bearing at all, while the third looks like a gimbal rotated 90 degrees to the carrier, but I can't tell if it is the correct one. Puzzled as to what is goin on here... Do you have the correct bearing in there?

Agree with Bababouy, that doesn't look like the sealed gimbal bearing. The other problem may be because its a GLM product.

What are the numbers on the bearing? Looks like 4C0635

The bearing came in a kit that I bought to do the the bellows. I thought it was a Sierra bearing but now I'm not sure. The kit just specifies alpha 1 gen 2. I'll have to look at the part number when I get home. The new bearing I have on order is sealed oem one.

The bearing doesn't "appear" to have enough shoulder on it, should resemble this gimbal bearing.jpg

The shoulder should be on both sides to help keep it centered on the shaft, also help timt
