Is there an anti-siphon valve in the fuel line? If so, where is it?

I've traced the fuel line from the tank to the filter, then from the filter to the electric fuel pump, then from the pump to the carb.

No valve that I can see. Maybe because of the electric fuel pump?

Thanks,
Dave

Re: anti-siphon valve

It is probably built into the fitting/elbow at the tank.

Thanks. I'll look at it closely again.

I tried looking for one on the Merc website w/ my engine # and couldn't find one, just the fuel pump, etc.

Anyone have a link to one?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, On my SeaRay, I needed to unscrew the fuel pickup tube from the elbow. The antisiphon valve was under the tube.

You will just have to look as described above.....
It is something that will be specific to your boat's manufacturer.....
It doesn't become a Merc until ya get to the water separator......;)

Re: anti-siphon valve

it will really not look like anything ;)

It is just a hose barb WITH a ball and spring inside to stop fuel flow if a hose fails

It has to be the first thing on the fuel tank were the rubber fuel line connects

Re: anti-siphon valve

when you find it, replace it. As they get gummed up with age, it will get stuck slightly open, and make cold starting on your engine a nightmare.

Yeah, that's the problem I have. I'd read on another post to check it but couldn't find it. Now I know where it is.

I found the part # 50-60002 on the Bayliner (1995 2050 CX) website. I did a google & ebay search but can't find anywhere to buy it.

Any help??

Thanks,
Dave

Almost everything on a boat is universal, unless it has Bayliner, Regal, Sea Ray etc. stamped on it.

Also available at Napa, West Marine, EB Marine and other marine supply store should cost around $15.00
