Depends on your tow vehicle. With a full size truck their are plenty.

I don't know a lot of 22' of anything that has a stand-up head/shower that's enclosed. Not saying there's aren't any,, but
that's a pretty tall order for such a boat. Stand-up means about 6' of headroom, doesn't it? Let us know what you find.

(edit: wait, you didn't say "stand-up" so nevermind. ignore me from this point forward:D)

I am thinking the creature comforts start at 24 foot and up.

26 long, 8.6 on beam thats a faily decent camping size.

at 22', it's a square peg in a round hole. The cabin will take up too much of the boat and will be too small to be a comfortable "bathroom." When you add the weight of a cabin to a 22' boat, it makes trailering (which includes launch/retrieve) that much more of a project.

Not to say they don't make them, because they can sell them, but it doesn't mean it's satisfactory.

The head is easy. Consider an outdoor shower.

Look at Starcraft Chieftains as they are aluminum and thus quite light for their size.

I think they come in 21' - 26'.

A Cuddy w/ a head might be your best bet. I have a 19ft Cuddy w/ a head that has plumbing. You could always use the cabin to sleep in and use a Marina's shower and toilet. The one at my marina is remarkable clean.

Generally speaking a cabin cruiser is an inhabitable boat over 25' in length. Under that footage and you're looking for a cuddy, day boat, walkaround, weekender, or picnic boat to offer those accomodations. Check out Robolo, Back Cove, older Four Winns, or (as mentioned) Starcraft.

i am pretty sure the cut off length for cuddy to cabin is about 24 foot i have a 23 foot sundowner and there is no room for a shower of course i dont think i would want one either 1 more thing to go wrong 1 more thing to clean 1 more thing for kids to play on... and break. my boss has a 24 foot vista and i dont much care for the shower and kitchen it takes up so much room it makes it feel crampt, good luck.

Why do you want less than 22'?

He doesn't..... he wants a big boat but only has a nissan to tow with so he wants a lighter boat with the goodies of a big boat......
here is his other thread from earlier today

Jat.. What you are gonna find is that there just isn't room in a smaller boat for the comforts you want.... If you find one with them the rest of the boat will be very cramped..... A porta potty under the v berth is easy but an enclosed bathroom in a 24'er makes for a cramped boat let alone in an even smaller boat.

Sea Ray, Carver and Bayliner all made aft cabin 21-22 foot pocket cruisers. There are others who did as well. Not sure the weight or roominess but they are out there.

As the owner of a Carver Montego 2157 that is supposedly 21", more like 23'+, I can tell you with confidence that almost everything you want can be done with this boat. 6' headroom, full galley, aft cabin, plenty of freeboard, 3900 lb dry weight, fresh water tank, stand up porta potty, fridge, sink but no shower. Runs 40 mph, 60 gals of fuel with a 260 merc and an Alpha 1 drive. Sleeps 3 1/2 people comfortably, day cruises 5 people or two people and a couple of large dogs with ease. The full camper back is very nice, I've sat and watched the snow fly many a time in complete comfort. Gassed and loaded on a trailer weighs bout 6200 lbs. Rides like glass, Carver build quality, can be had in very good shape for about 10-15,000.
I've had larger boats in the 25-27' range and I've kept this one because of the ease of towbility, crazy room inside and it's terrific manors on the water. They were built only from 1988-1990 so with any older boat, a proper survey is in order. I've wanted to trade up, but even looking at Chapparals in the 27' range, I'm not getting enough more to make me do it space wise or amenities.
Not much gets built new like my boat anymore, there's a very small market for it. Everyone seems to want day boats and the small cruiser market hasn't been popular for quite awhile. Good luck hunting, they're out there but hard to find.

Dockwrecker I had you and your boat in mind when I posted, glad you chimed in. I've never been on the smaller cruisers before, but I love the use of space some companies manage to squeaze out of boats. Although the layouts will be more or less the same, take a look at the different brands of small cruisers. You will like one or another better and that should help narrow your search!
