Sounds like a fish story to me!:D

Where at in Pgh? I am on the Beaver river.
. Mon river near Belle Vernon. We make runs to the point for 4 th of July or certain concerts. Most of the time we head south, nicer scenery as you get closer to WV.

Re: any inland guy's?

In Maryland we have it all.

I am minutes to 1 hour to many awesome lakes and deep river water. (Raystown, Deep Creek, Anna, Upper Potomac)

I am an hour and half from the Chesapeake Bay

I am three and half hours from the Atlantic.

I mostly stay inland as my boat is old and only 19' and the bay can turn nasty in an instant. Plus it is just so easy to hook up and take her to the upper Potomac Slack water and have the kids tubing within 40 minutes of pulling out of the driveway.

Love Raystown. Lots of nice Stripers there. Only it's a pain in the butt getting there for me. Just no easy way. Lake Anna is also another nice place, but the boat is to big to tow that distance without permits.

Lake Erie is my playground. And always having an eye on the weather here is so important. But here where I am I can go out on the big lake and have room to run and may not see another boat or shore for hours. Now hurry up spring!

Re: any inland guy's?

I'm in the Pittsburgh area, so it's a long drive to the ocean. I mainly boat and fish in the Ohio river or a couple nearby small/medium lakes. Most of the lakes near me have a 20HP limit though, so I'm stuck putting around on my 9.9 kicker unless I'm at the river :(

Where at in Pgh? I am on the Beaver river.

Where on the Beaver? I'm in Rochester - right where the Beaver dumps into the Ohio.

Live and boat on beautiful Lake Simcoe. Plus we have access to the 240 miles of the Trent Severn waterway which in one direction will take us to Georgian Bay, and in the other direction to Lake Ontario. There's always something different to see. We're probably a good 10 hr drive to the nearest ocean.

I am at Bridgewater Landing's. The marina by the police station. Amazing how you find people near you.

I know exactly where you're at. I tend to stay on the Ohio, or about the first half mile of the Beaver - I rarely have the patience for a 2 1/2 mile long no wake zone (thanks to people like you who dock on the river :p ). Well if you've seen an ugly brown Sylvan Sportster out on the river this past year or so, that's me. I have the hull gutted at the moment, and I'm flipping it in a couple days for paint, so the next time you see it it will be neither ugly nor brown ;)

I live in Arizona. End of story :)

I have to say though, I love lakes and rivers cause I love camping on the shores. Now if the wife did I'd have some company besides a 17 y/o daughter with an attitude and 11 y/o son that never wants to go home :)

Grand Lake o' the Cherokees is home to my boat. With some 1300 miles of shoreline, it'll take a few gallons of gas to explore the whole thing. Raftin' up with fellow boat nuts is the best way to enjoy the summer. Thank God everyone else hasn't learned that yet, it's getting crowded out there.

Inland here too.. We have a small river within 3 miles of the house that is actually full enough to use like 3 weeks a season. We also have the mississippi and illinois rivers within a 45 minute drive if they are aren't too high or too low. Other than that we mostly trailer to two lakes in illinois that are 1 1/2 and 2 hours away for day trips, and we visit some clean water down in arkansas a few times each summer, that is a 5hr trip.

Hey Viper, NYBo was busting on you because of your typo (12'- twelve foot) perch that are caught! That's a BIG perch!
:DBut I can assure you it was all in good fun!

Have done a little saltwater, but mostly fresh ... grew up on a river/manmade lake. Still run the river a little, lake has been enlarged to where my old summer "growing up" home is now 120 feet under water! 30 mile long lake and river runner here.

Unfortunately, you have to live in/around Michigan to enjoy it. Lol. ;)

Huh?? Unfortunate? I have yet to find one thing unfortunate about living in Michigan. I'm really kinda curious what you mean...I know you're just joking and all, I'm just curious.

Oh and to answer the question...I live in Michigan. Boating is pretty much my life.

Re: any inland guy's?

wow, I thought most everyone on here was on the coast of the oceans somewhere, mostly guessing by the size of some of the boats ya'all have on here. lol I ain't never seen a boat close to the size or expense of those around this form on the river i ride on. lol but, the river I ride on ain't that big thought, and full of a lot of down trees and sandbars, the Kaskaskia river for those around southern Illinois area, might sound familiar. The only time I see boats like half those on here is if I go to Carlyle Lake, then I am star struck at some of them boats, I'm used to seeing plane old John boats goin up and down the river lol

A guy can walk acrossed the Kaskaskia and not get his shirt wet where I'm at.

Re: any inland guy's?

The area I'm referring to is about 10 miles from me right at the Route 121 bridge and about 2 miles before the Kaskaskia turns into Lake Shelbyville. I was on Carlyle when I was young. All I remember is the old oil well structures (or whatever they were) sticking out of the water and a large island where we spent most of the day. Carlyle is about 2 hours from me. The wife and I were planning our 10 year anniversary trip a few days ago and I suggested we could bring with boat along and hit Carlyle, Crab Orchard and Little Grassy (we're going to the Makanda/Carbondale area) and she said "Do you really have to bring your girlfriend?" L...O....L
