Re: anyone here have a snowblower?

I have an old snow blower that I keep saying maybe next year I will replace it. It is a Rickel snow blower that I purchased roughly 16-17 years ago. She has started on the first pull year after year. It has saved my back on numerous occasions. It is a 23" 5hp. Sounds like you got a good deal on yours. I know around here the Snow blowers have been out since September, but as soon as we get any snow they will all disappear.

I've got one, I forget how many inchs it is, but its a big one, 12hp engine, its a beast! You gotta know how to use the big ones, I find that I just have to go real slow, or else I'll just end up fighting with the machine, and become just as sore as if I was shouveling.

It used to really bother me to have to get out of bed at 3:30-4:00 AM to blow the driveway. But now that is when I get home from work so it gets done BEFORE bedtime.I use a Simplicity 2 stage 8 horse.Takes about 45 minutes on about 3000 square feet.<br /><br />>>>>>>>HAPPY CABIN FEVER<<<<<<<

I have a 7.5 horse ariens.I bought it for my wife so she doesn't have to shovel. That is because I keep the roads clean when it snows,so I have no time to do my driveway

Don’t have a snow blower but have a 9N Ford tractor and a six-foot blade. Works for me.

rolmops, you are supposed to swing by the house to pick up a pair of gloves (or sandwich) with the big plow truck. That way yours gets done too. :)

I have a 5 hp Ariens, 24". It's about 17 years old, going strong and has run well when I've taken care of it (there were a few years when the kids were little and stuff like this took a back seat...)<br /><br />Only thing I'll do different next time is get a bigger one!

Winter Storm Watch 2005"<br />We're getting an inch or two today (supposedly). The news is making it sound like 5 feet. Pictures of snow blowers and stuck cars everywhere....

It's a piece of equipment used to determine if you've traveled far enough south to be safe from snow. The machine is generally tied to the roof of your car. You then head south, stopping at various gas stations along your way until a local pump jockey asks you "What in the he11 ya got tied to top of yer car?" At that point you’re generally far enough south to be safe from the dreaded white rain. :D :D

Re: anyone here have a snowblower?

I have an ancient huge Simplicity that runs like a Harley and can clear a sidewalk in one pass. I havn't had to use it until this year because I plowed snow in the winter and would hook my driveway up. Now that I no longer do that, I had to dust off the snowblower. Big beastly thing but it gets the job done.
