Are VRO and VRO2 pumps interchangeable between years if Mixing?

Here's why I ask....Had a fuel delivery problem on 1984 115 (rebuilt Powerhead). It would come to plane, then die out. A couple seconds at idle and I could plane again for 15seconds.........I know it was fuel, So I swapped the VRO and did a complete carb rebuild.

Test run ran real good, immediatly I know my symptom was gone.

I did notice a slight rough/shaking at low rpm's on acceleration and throttle back. Seem to get progressively worse on my all day fishing trip.

I have several old crossflow motors(1984, 1989, 1993) I've grabbed Pumps from. I just put another on tonight, with a planned test run this week--to see if I can Put this specific symptom to bed, or at least isolate it.

I dont use the Oil side...are all these pumps usable for me even if they are 3 wire, 4 wire? I just cut/terminate the wires anyway. Just want to be sure I can use any VRO or VRO2 reliably.

I guess I should be looking at doing a pump rebuild kit to be sure I'm getting a good pump.

Thanks

The low RPM roughness is fixed...Put in yet another VRO and that problem is gone...Runs smooth all ranges. Big difference.
No to swap Regulators for a jumpy tack and no charge situation. Always something.

Thought I'd update for others. Seems any of these VRO units will do, regardless of wiring if you are premixing. Glad I had a good used one to put in.
