I was steelhead fishing today on private property my best freinds and myself. We,ve fished this stream for the last 12 yrs picking up peoples nasty cigg buttts and there broken line beer cans you know the whole nine yards.Theres 4 people with permission to fish this property. And one guy is tryinng to start a trout fishing guide service. So hes bringing people to this land and makig money from it not shareing with the owner.Matter of fact he knew nothing about it.Any ways i made a comment about those people are not allowed down here.Theres a no tolarance rule period. So the guide his 8 year old son and the client wait for us to get up on the road and. This so called guide that got skunked while he watched us reel in at least a dozen in an hour.Comes over to me in front of his 8 yr old kid and gets in my face telling me hes gunna kick my @zz pointing in my face doing his best to try and be scary. Now let me tell you about this guy first off he,s a fireman/soccar coach for kids/and hes involved with the community. And he acts a fool i even walked away from him and he still continued to approach me telling me what he was gunna do to me.Im 39 years old ive had one heart attack ive got heart issues to this day and one failing kindey. My blood pressure is already sky high. Now im concerned about going back down there and gettting caught alone. You cant win against this type of person in court.Sure i can go off on him and end up in jail cuz thats where id end up...And im in such a small town im afraid to say anything to the fire cheif. It,s a catch 22 and im just stewing on it.I honestly dont know what i should do.I,d like to have it documented incase another altercation happens becuse it very well could happen. My quality of life isnt as good as it should be and i got some moron acting like hes 18 yrs old and in the bar.Any suggestions would be nice. And i dont really want to call the cops and aggravate the situation i just wanna be left alone to fish....

Oh yah i see him least once a week he will walk through.and check out the property he,s a good guy he dont fish be her keeps the mouth nice and clean and flowing good. And we were all told that your to bring noone with you.Becuse then ppl will say "well so and so said it was ok and then you have all kinds of garbage. It used to be a puplic place we took a 55 gal drum down there for ppl to throw there trash into and some foll threw it into the water. This is a honey hole bye far and its that way for a reason all catch and release its nice and clean and not much traffic. Then you get someone like this guy thats probably gunna ruin it all becuse the cops went to the owners house. So im sure he,s just thrilled.I totally expect to not be allowed to fish it no more and i really wouldnt blame him.Even tho i feel i was not in the wrong one bit in my eyes. Its easy acess for myself im not made for long hikes no more unfortunatly plus its 3 mins from my house.Great day of fishing went to H311 in a hand basket real fast...MY freind says i give u credit i though it was gunna get ugly fast cuz with my high blood pressure sometimes i get a lil cranky. But i pretty much remained calm except for a few witty remarrks that i know really burned him up....

P.S im no writer so sorry for the encrypted posts i do have decoders for 9.95:D

At least for awhile, make sure you bring a friend (preferably, a big one) when you fish. If your cell phone has a camera in it, start taking photos the next time he starts in on you. Tell him you have a heart condition and that you now have evidence of his belligerent behavior, and that you will both press charges against him and sue his butt off, if you end up having a heart attack.

Well the fire cheif just called and said he is no longer employed with the F/D.I dont feel any public servant shouldnt be acting like that bottom line i know if i go around threating to bea ppl up.Jonny Law would be at my place quick. But i did file formal complaints against him and sent a notarized/certified leter to the fire cheif.Jus for a lil back up if need be.P.S the guy tthat was with me last night is about 6,4 and 280 lbs hes a mason with hands like a vise lol so this guy is extremely lucky he didnt swing on me not that i can do much to defend myself.the wind will bout blow me over lol.But at any rate i apprciate being able to vent i was pretty bent out of shape over it and in all honestly.....

I don't think this topic fits the intent of SHT so I am moving it to DC.

You can't resolve it by looking at him,
you have to look at you and how you've set the ball rolling.
At this point, if you do go to the owner he'll know it was you,
thats not too swift unless you like slashed tires.

"Live and let live" means if we just leave people alone to their imperfections we get to live in peace ourselves.

"We must be vigilant and ever wary of that errant member, the tongue."
Book of James.

You can easily resolve the situation by making amends, tell him the truth.
"I should keep my mouth shut and not judge others til I've perfected myself".

Its just that simple.
Personally I find when venting I resolve nothing, it just "feels good" but thats a lie I tell myself to ...feel good.
Does this ring a bell for you?

"I should keep my mouth shut and not judge others til I've perfected myself".

Steelheads, huh? We don't get them down here but I heard that there was a great way to eat them, especially if they come from Lake Erie. Fillet them, boneless of course. Let them soak in some extra virgin olive oil with shallots and garlic powder. About an hour will do. Fire up the grill and put the steelies on a wet cedar plank and cook for about fifteen mintes a side. When done, toss the fish and eat the plank, Yum!! :D

Re: Attacked bye a guide

Well at least nobody brought a gun out on you like what happened to us today . The owner of the land was already alerted that we was on our way to work on the boat so we could at least get the trailer better then half way ready to be towed. The owner even knew what type of vehicle we was supposed to be in. Anyhow this guy comes out with a pistol in hand and walks over to us. I didn't freak out and neither did my father, even though I'm a little nervous around guns I remained calm. We haven't seen this guy before, we was dealing with an employee of his when buying the boat. The man basically confirmed that we were the ones who bought the boat and we set and talked for a moment. When talking with him I at least dropped my hammer (that I was using) to the ground, he still held on to his gun. After that we finished up for the day and then the employee calls (the one who we bought the boat from), and he asked when I mentioned about meating up with a man, he says "which man was it that we talked with, the one who goes around shooting people or the one in the silver car". I'm thinking HA HA real funny .

I don't believe in fighting, mainly because of my physical condition. I darn sure wouldn't fight if I've got a bad heart, and other health issues. In my case if they want to beat up a handy capped man (which I'm considered handy capped) then the low life scum that does the beating will be arrested and brought to court. If it were me I would do one or two things, confront the man in a calm manner and see what his problem is, or just stay away. There are alot of people that I just stay away from now a days. I can't tolerate being around people who will jump at ya in a drop of a hat and wanna fight. Last time I've been in a fight where I fought back was 5th grade.

Make a copy of this thread and show it to the owner with a link as well, in case he has a computer, or a boat. :)

Well i was a lil aggravated from one of the above posts but everyone is entitled to an opinion thank god or this forum probably wouldnt exsist. And as far as the steelheads/rainbows i belive there a cross breed. My buddy and myself have probably caught at least 35 apeice in the last week or so with minnows. Its been a great year untill all this.We dont eat then were spoiled with pearch/walleye you never go back to regular fish once you,ve had it.And wildanimal anytime you see someone with a gun you dont know you should be nervous. This guy didnt have anthing other then a big mouth for the most part. He,s real lucky i didnt have a heart attack or a stroke im not in the best of shape.Hopefully itlll just go away. But i do plan to copy this whole thread.Just in case never know. And tallcanadian your right he is just a punk is all few years ago i woulda beat him like a red headed step child but ive grown up plus i cant go boating from jail:eek:

Bad people are only empowered when good people do nothing. He was trying to exploit a shared resourse that you cherish. You have every right to be concerned about abuse of the rules that is in place. Inform the owner of the situation and tell him because of this guys hostility you wont confront him but wanted him to know of the matter. For 20-50 dollars you can by a digital recorder that can record audio for 10 hrs. Buy one just in case he confronts you. If he does confront you tell him you've said you're peace and dont want to involve the police but will.

Sorry my connection failed. We cant let people continue to behave that way and do nothing. You can't give that punk the bashing he deserves physicaly. But you should'nt allow him the power over you to prevent or impead your pursute of happiness{steelies}. Good luck and tell us how it turns out.
