I almost cut of my fingers with a disk saw.

8 stitses and one finger that could not be stished becouse of the rough edges.
hit some bone so i must stay home for a week and use antibiotics..
it so *****ing hurts

Relatively cheap lesson. I am amazed I still have all of my digits. I bet you can trace it to one agressive move or something else that caused you to let your guard down . . .

Ya know what task scares me the most? Christmas Lights on/off the eaves of the second story

Sounds like your gonna be all right but that was close!
I have used power saws for 30 years and still have all ten. :redface:
It only takes one second of not paying attention and bad things happen. I've had several close calls, some of wich I shoulda lost but so far luck has saved me (and you maybe?)

Sorry, I know it hurts. Not like the guy who worked with my dad and had a finger cut off with a machine, The insurance adjuster came to investigate and asked the injured worker to show him "just how he cut his finger off" The guy went over to the machine and proceeded to cut off another finger. NO lie..

Wow, at that point I hope the ins. adjuster says, this was caused by your own stupidity you get nothing. You are the weakest link, goodbye!

i know 2 folks minus a digit from table saws, 1 from a lawn mower.... be glad ya got yer lesson being able to keep all 10..... make sure ya learn from yer mistake..... sorry to hear about yer misfortune......get well soon.....

Sounds like you 'dodged the bullet' there... Lucky... and get fixed up quick.

I'm basically a coward and hate pain. When I'm using anything that can hurt me I look at all the ways it could get me and work around them. Like with the circular saw, I have the guard in place and make absolutely sure the power cord is running behind me. I never have it running without both hands holding it, all the same with the 4" angle grinder. I have a barrel type lawnmower and when I am unloading the catcher to empty it, the clutch is disengaged and the engine is idling. The mere thought of a hand/finger in those spinning bits scare the willies out of me! I use the mower and the weed trimmer wearing my steel-cap offshore work boots and when I'm welding, it's full overalls, work boots and full face shield. I have a special drawer in my shed marked "PPE". Personal Protective Equipment. I have it, I use it. My wife also like the fact that I am looking after the 'supporting system' for her favourite friend.

it hapend just afther I installed a new blade the other was dull and i had to push hard on the board, afther installing the new blade it went verry fast trough the wood to fast.

I hit my left hand trigger finger and the left hand ring finger.
the middel finger was un hurt (but had been cut of when i was 8 jears old) it has been put back on but still looks funny.


And about the Schiedammer pain killer i dont think thats allowed with the meds. but it would help.
